Cole/Q-Pon/Dante being quality defenders help balance things and that's why dell brought them in.

It's nice having some quality defenders on the bench after having next to none for a while.

It's an interesting discussion. I know JVG has been on the Lowe pod And talked about how he wanted more offensively skilled players. To him, it was easier to teach defense than offense. And certainly his buddy Thibs has gotten outstanding defense out of backup talent throughout his Chicago tenure.

I think if you compare rosters, you are scratching your head figuring out how the Pels are a bottom 5 defense, but Philadelphia is #12. Or Charlotte is top 10. Even the Bucks saw their best defensive player basically quit mid season. Their 2nd best is a 20 yo. They are one of the youngest teams in the league and sit at number 2 in defense.

I think you're right that size has been a problem in NO. The team has stocked up on immobile 7 footers and 6'4" or shorter combo guards. But I don't agree that the players are just dumb. Asking Anderson to hard hedge is crazy. Switching almost every screen is crazy with what the roster has been. Having Davis 25 feet from the rim without Asik on the floor is crazy.
