Predictions for next year

What are the predictions for next year?
Winning Season?
Losing Season?
Playoffs?
Based off of the recent changes with a hiring Gentry, no draft, free agency doesn't look like we will be going after any big free agents like Kevin Love so I am curious what do most of you think next year will look like.

Why don't you check back in about a month when we have even a remote idea of what the full roster will look like?

Anything short of a winning season and playoffs is a failure.

From everything I've read the front office is happy with most of the current roster.

Don't be such a jerk off. It's not like anyone is paying you for your predictions. Just conversation.

Yes, but there will be some moves made, even if they are relatively minor. Let's see what the roster is then comment.
But yes, anything less than the playoffs would be a failure.
I think we are all expecting to take the next step, 2nd round.

Are we better than OKC Thunder?
Posted on 6/26/15 at 10:59 am to tigerworkpart2
Well Pels are 33-1 to win the title (same as the Lakers FYI)
OKC is 7.5-1
So OKC is over 4X more likely to win a championship if you ask Vegas.

I'm not being a jerk. I'm telling you there is no way to fricking know, because we have no idea what anyone's roster will look like.
We have no idea what Durant's health will be.
Let's have this thread after FA.

Since health is a huge aspect of a good season, I'm starting this off with, "if healthy."
If healthy, the addition of Gentry and his coaching staff and the presumable progression of our young talent, I think, would net us at least 10 more wins than last year. 55 wins would have been good enough to tie for 4th seed last year.
If we take the current roster and fill it out with solid MLE and BAE guys, a 5th seed prediction is reasonable, I would think. [Edit: like above, all depends on the offseason, really. No way to tell what the other teams will do, but I still think the improved talent of our team will be enough to have an expectation of a 5th seed]
Considering that the Trailblazers will take a [significant] step back, the Spurs getting older (not that it stops them), the Mavs doing whatever the hell they're doing, and the Grizzlies possibly losing Gasol, there is room to move up. Sure, OKC will have Durant back, but does Durant elevate them above Anthony Davis and co. in an actual offensive system? [Edit: apparently Vegas thinks so]
Maybe I'm overvaluing health or the new coaching additions, but I don't see us in a race for the 8th seed. We should be in the thick of the seeding, fighting for first round home-field advantage.

Well to be fair to OKC Durant missed 54 games last season and they finished with the same record as NOP.
You mention an "actual offensive system" OKC changed coaches too and their offense should resemble more of an actual offensive system also. IMO the top 4 in the West are OKC, GSW, HOU, and LAC(Insert Spurs over one of those teams in they get Aldridge). The Pels can maybe get into the 5 or 6 seed they'd have to beat out MEM and the Spurs. I'd say 6-7 seed is most likely.

Fair enough. I didn't think about that. I still maintain that we can sneak into the 5th spot. After all, we do have a top 3-5 player in the league.

Very unlikely but not impossible, you never know who's gonna get hurt around the league.

Nobody with half a brain expected anything to come of the draft for us
Nobody with 1/4 a brain expected us to go after any "big name free agents".. Especially Love
Come on, man

I'm going to say 7th seed, 50ish wins. Lose in 1st round but it will be a competitive series... 6 or 7 games.

They usally say this when they dont sign the big free agent they really wanted

I've already said that, if relatively healthy, they make at least 50 wins. Have no idea right now what that gets you the Western Conference.
