I think the last possession just highlighted how badly it hurts not to have a real guard that can drive by guys and create. We waste so much time dribbling between the legs at the top of the circle, only to have to give it up or force a shot when we try to go.

Zion playing changes everything.
Dort guards Zion
Williams guards BI
And CJ gets Giddy or someone else that he can torch.

Also, Zion would have gotten fouled 47 times tonight with maybe 1 or 2 of them getting called.

A 42 footer that you have to just throw up the second you touch the ball is an awful look.

Come on man, that wasn’t a 42 footer. He was literally 3 feet away from CJ with his hands out ready to shoot.

Trey locked and loaded 30 footer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CJ confused, panicked, turned around backwards step through line drive one footer. It’s not even debatable.

Did he tear something?
Nobody knows, which is why no one can say he should be back by game 3 with any certainty.

I love how people say this like we're the only team that doesn't have this.

CJ is decent at the dribble drive and had some really nice assists tonight, but the type of guy you're looking for is a superstar.

I’m hoping we can win the series but I’m also being realistic by saying I don’t think we will, however, I do think every game will be close.

I said this before when I watching this game it made me sad because this series is built for Zion. His ascension to superstar would be complete.

Surely there is no one that is banking on Zion being back, right?

I mean if he does come back, great, but based on past experiences how can anyone be penciling him back in once the two weeks hit?

Agree Zion gives the Pels that ability, but we still need a good point guard

Trey was 30 feet and in set position. Stop exaggerating
He was absolutely closer to 40 than 30 and probably at least 40 feet out.

He was a full step behind the logo. He was 2 steps from half court.

I'm not exaggerating, just fairly certain you only watched it once.

The CJ was a much higher % shot than a 40 footer from Trey where he would have gotten the ball and had to rush a shot with not enough time for a normal release.

I think we lose in 5 or 6, kinda like the Lakers series in 2010 and the PHX series in 22.

We also should have fouled earlier to leave more than 14 seconds to get a good shot.

Of all the things to be upset about this is not one. 14 seconds is an eternity of time

No way Zion plays this series. Maybe if we advance. I think he needs at least 3 weeks but they won’t say what grade the strain is. If it’s just a grade 1 he should be fine in 2 weeks. He’s not limping at all. If that’s MJ he’s playing hurt in the playoffs.

Never said he was. There aren't many true PGs anymore.

You see how much we did with 14 seconds? Sorry, but an extra 5-10 seconds is huge in that situation

The idea that it was a 30 footer is wild.

94 feet court, half court is 47 feet. You're saying Trey was 17 feet from half court, please watch it again.

Trey was 2 steps from half court, so he was roughly 40 feet from the basket.

40 feet and not enough time for a normal shot, would have to rush it

I agree but other than short term entertainment, add in we’re not playing Dyson or Hawkins, Zion is hurt- whats the point of this?

I will say if BI keeps stinking it up- it’ll be really hard for Griffin to just give him that an extension. So maybe thats the point. I honestly dont know.

I mean if you really want to get into the meta of it all, there is really no point to any of this, even if Zion was playing.

At the end of the day, it's a bunch of athletic rich dudes playing kids games.

You take out of it what you see fit.
