It really seems like that's gotta be the source of this Too Cheap story. It makes the Pels look bad so they wouldn't leak it, before Monty was fired the rumors had Thibs with a wink wink deal with Orlando already, so rather than say New Orleans was too cheap for Thibs it seems like the face saving thing would be taking the Orlando gig immediately like it was a job you wanted all along. The previous ties to the Orlando job plus Orlando's coaching search being on hold still also makes it seem like Thibs thinks a better job is still in play. Why insult your potential employer? This isn't a rival GM you're trying to screw in a trade, this is a team you're hoping gives you the best job in the NBA.
