I really fricking hope Zion sends a message early and plows through LeBron’s chest after he’s been stationary in the paint for 10 seconds. I don’t care if he picks up an early foul, if he wants to take the charge let him take it

I said they MIGHT think about it lol. I also think it might be the only way we win. To me their strengths are exactly our weaknesses. Its so hard to even think about how to scheme to beat this team. We just dont have the high IQ coaching or the talent to do it. This isn’t an effort thing that Willie says. They’re just better- game might be closer, but they’ll win.

You guys act like the regular season dictate things in the playoffs. It really doesn’t.

1-3 seeds total 97.4% of the NBA champs. Only 2 titles were won by a team with a 4 seed or higher. The regular season is a pretty good indication of how the playoffs are going to play out.

If you’re looking strictly at titles sure. But there are constant upset in playoff series. The Heat made the finals last year. Lakers another play-in team made the west conf finals.

I agree if its just nba titles thats accurate. Anything else isnt as clear cut.

The lakers scheme against Zion is simple. Its lebron out front and AD got his back. It’s why he struggles so much. The pels really don’t have a counter. The only thing I can think of is you go small and put Zion at the 5. Problem is you give up a ton of size and rebounding. JV is too slow and clogs lane eveb more. Nance is too small and nonthreat offensively.

Zion hasn't figured out yet that when he charges someone full speed, they can't guard him.
If Lebron wants to stay 10' off of him with the ball, then dribble right at the fricker. No one standing still can gaurd someone running at them.
Every single time, Zion doesn't know what to do then slowly backs his way down until he's posting up with his back to the basket. frick that. Just go straight at him. His pussy arse isnt' taking a charge.

Zion looks like a kid out there that's scared. Stop going in for layups where you jump away from the contact. Use your big arse body and move AD"s glass arse out of the way and finish through him. Trying to finesse a layup falling away to avoid contact and not getting blocked is what a 10 year old does. Zion's never had to use his body to shield the ball from the defender in his life, and it shows.

Bleacher Report article on Giannis/Simmons/Draymond attacking sagging defenses

quote:

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets tried something similar against Simmons, dropping his defender into the paint, where he'd wait for Simmons to make a move. It didn't go great. In the play below, Jared Dudley sags way off Simmons, who gathers a head of steam, charges toward the rim and finishes.

quote:

"I'm giving him a tad bit of space, and then I guard him like anybody else," Morris said. Boston aimed to keep Giannis out of the paint. He attempted 10.7 shots in the restricted area during the regular season, tops in the league, and converted 73.7 percent of them. "I'm not trying to make him too comfortable where he can run at you," Morris continued. "I think that's his biggest thing—when he can get that full head of steam. I'm trying to take that away from him."

The other thing that we never do that needs to be imployed more is giving Zion the ball at the top of the key. If his defender wants to play off of him and stay in the paint, then fine. Let Zion set picks with the ball much like Sabonis does with Fox and Huerter. Huerter scores almost all of his points this way with Sabonis. If Zion's defender is no where to be found and Zion sets a good pick as CJ or Trey run by him and get the handoff, then they are shooting wide open 3's. And if the defender notices it and steps up to challenge the 3, then Zion slips behind him and he's wide open on the cut, something Draymond Green and the Warriors do all the time.
You can do the same with BI and let him penetrate more and make Zion's defender choose to stop him from taking a wide open pull up jumper at the FT line, or stay with Zion as he rolls to the goal for an alleyoop, and if someone helps on the alley oop, then we have a wide open corner 3.
BI shoots 53% on pull up mid range jumpers, and i'd bet that number is even higher when that shot is just below the FT line.

I'll remind everyone again that Zion set 24 picks all year where he rolled to the goal, so everything i just said sounds foreign to most of you b/c you've never seen us run anythign like it for whatever stupid arse reason.

Lol your whole post is just shitting on Zion.

He’s literally facing lebron and AD doubling him on defense. Its just a bad matchup for him.

Your nonsense Zion hate is out of control especially considering how you sit there hyping up BI like hes some great superstar. I’m sorry you need to stop- its just getting ridiculous.

the fact that you think I love BI and hate Zion is hilarious to me.

I've literally said multiple times over the last 2 days that i would trade BI.

And everything i just said was not shitting on Zion. Yeah i don't like how he doesn't use his body more, but i also get why he doesn't, and i have confidence he'll get better. Yeah he's in year 5, but it's really the first time he's really played, so to me it's like it's year 2 for him. There is so much he can improve upon to be better, and he's a top 5 player in the league when he does.

It's not ZIon's fault he doesn't set ball screens.
It's not Zion's fault he's given the ball and asked to try to go through a wall of defenders with little scheme on how to attack it.

My whole point was how we don't utilize Zion anywhere near how he should be utilized, but all you saw was "this guy hates Zion and can't get BI's cock out of his mouth"

You basically just give up on how to defeat AD and Lebron. You sit here and say oh well, they are too great, it's a bad matchup. Stop with the loser mentality.
I just gave you two different means of attacking the type of defense they've played, and linked a long arse article detailing similar players that have defenders sag off of them like that and how they are successful, and point out how we do none of that. But I hate Zion for pointing out our coaching isn't helping him at all.

I'll say it again for you so you don't forget.
I've said multiple times recently that I'd trade BI this offseason.
You'd think a guy who hates Zion and loves BI wouldn't say that huh.

You can devise every way possible way to beat them but both(AD and Bron) are substantially better players than the ones we have. We also don’t have high IQ coaching either to devise schemes. The only way to beat them is to outshoot them from 3 and hope they miss. We just don’t have the personnel especially at the center position to beat them. Its called being realistic- Im not gonna sit here wasting paragraphs of ideas to beat them when realistically they’re by far the worst matchup in the league for us. You don’t think kings tried everything possible to beat us? We’re just a horrible matchup for them. I mean they even outshot us in the last game and lost. But go ahead think theres some magical play design or playcalls which will help us. Or better yet just trash our stars when they’re just doing what they did against other teams but it wont work against this team.

I don't give up. I don't have a losers mentality, so i'm not going to sit here and just say it's just a bad matchup. Team that continuously make the playin, or get booted in the first round use that losers excuse.

You might as well not even watch the game tonight if tha'ts how you feel.

We are the more talented team. We have more weapons than they do. They beat us b/c they are smarter in how they schemed against us on both ends of the court, and we simply didn't do anything to adjust to it.
We'll see what Willie is made of tonight, as well as Zion.
Last time they got embarressed like this against the Lakers they whipped their arse next time they played.

We have had the lead against them in the 1st quarter in the first 3 games we played. This last game was the first time we didn't win the 1st quarter, and we only lost it by 6.
It's the second quarter where we are getting destroyed in those losses.

frick the Lakers
frick LeBitch
and frick that gaping vagina AD

I appreciate the enthusiasm and Im rooting for them. But I also understand reality and how difficult it is for us to beat this team- we need some kind of weird variance- bad ref calls against them, historically bad shooting from them, great shooting from us, injuries (AD back spasms is something to watch). That is my hope. Just playing hard and everyone healthy we may lose by 8 instead of 20. So I’ll watch and hope for that variance- call that losers mentality or whatever- I call it being realistic.

From 1-15 sure. But top 2- BI/Zion v Bron/AD- I don’t think that’s remotely close.

well...the only game we beat them of the 4 is the only game we shot more free throws than them. Zion went 8-12 that game.

Game 1 AD and LeBitch went 14-16
Game 2 AD and LeBitch went 13-16
Game 3 AD and LeBitch went 13-15
Game 4 AD and LeBitch went 10-10

Those two terd burglars are 78% FT shooters, shooting 88% against us this year.
We're shooting 78% against them and our season average is 77%
They are shooting 84% against us and their season average is 78%

Here's to a fair game being called tonight:

We got Scott Foster. Wondering if anyone has stats of him calling Bron and Zion games? Both teams will play physical- will be interesting to see the foul calls.

FYI:

We're 0-2 in Scott Foster reffed games while the Lakers are 4-1. One of our 2 losses were against the Lakers in early December.

saw five poodles being walked in the CBD this morning. I assume they belong to some laker family so I ran over two of them.

Update - turns out those five poodles were the halftime show. They did fantastic during halftime. Truly a class act.
