Team is tanking at the worst possible time. A lot of it due to coaching.

But if Pels win one against a good team, the usual suspects will be say, “ I thought Pels couldn’t beat a good team?” Never mind the percentage of those games that Pels win, because winning the occasional game means you’re at the elite level

Not the end of the world, just going to be close coming down the stretch. However, this game should resolve a lot of nonsense that gets air time on this board. Pels are a very good team but their point and center positions are holding them back from competing consistently with championship contending teams.Teams best lineups actually are sans Val and Nance, but rebounding becomes an issue. I could see Coach Green moving forward with lineups featuring Zion, Dyson, BI or TM3 manning post duties.

AD said it, BI is incredibly important to this team, he's the team's best playmaker. Just weird the BI slander on this board. The space he provides along with tough shot-making and passing opens up the game for the team, and has been sorely missed. Hopefully, we get more action between him and Zion when he returns.

Very impressed with Zion's play over this stretch (still gets caught sleeping on D time-to-time) but man he is a presence. Zion dominated the Suns front line in the second half although he's going to have to evolve his game to maximize his effectiveness.

Also Pels are getting glimpses of how Dyson is critical to the Pels future. His defense is elite he just needs to settle down on offense. Little slept on nugget ... Nobody really stops Dyson when he aggressively drives to the rim, and he's a good playmaker off his drives. Herb took a while to figure this out too so you just have to keep getting him minutes.

I expect the Pelicans to bounce back and get 1 possibly both games to finish the homestand. Pels have a tough road trip ahead, but Pels are good on the road. I have had these past 4 games marked since the trade deadline as I thought it would be a good litmus on the Pels, and although Pels dropped 3 of the 4, it shows they're close.
