I would love Faried, but after looking at what it would likely cost with cap space and picks, no thanks.

I know Denver wants Jrue.
If the season starts and Galloway and Frazier can play the 1 at a level not that far off from what Jrue provides, would swapping Jrue for Faried be an option?

I don't expect Galloway to be that good, good enough to say losing Jrue woudln't hurt that much, but what if he does provide enough offense to go with his stellar defense to be a good enough replacement for Jrue? We'd have to resign him at a higher level, but no where near what Jrue will get.
We should have a good bit of cap space then for next year.
Would Denver get Jrue's rights and get to resign him?

Big what if assuming Galloway can be as good as Jrue.

Faried and AD were a totally dominant pairing in international play (against mostly non NBA players). I wouldn't be surprised if our interest was real.

I remember watching that a few years ago and they were an amazing combo. Faried was probably even "outplaying" AD, but they made a great pairing on defense and offense and ran the floor together great. I thought at the time, we have to get this guy somehow. I'd still love to see it happen.

I don't recall if this was a Pels blog article or podcast, but they were asking a Knicks blogger about Galloway and he pretty much said you don't want him running you're offense. He was fine as a secondary guy on offense, but the times they asked him to be the lead guy because of injury he didn't play nearly as well. A lot of people are penciling him in ahead of Frazier on the depth chart but because Frazier and Jrue are the only guys on the team that can really run an offense, I think Galloway is the 5th guard if Buddy starts strong, maybe even 6th if Pondexter plays some SG.

David Fisher dug into the stats and confirmed why the Nuggets want to move him.

quote:

Digging deeper the warts begin to show. ESPN’s Real Plus-Minus ranks Faried 80th among 94 power forwards defensively last season. Two years ago he ranked just three spots ahead of Ryan Anderson. According to NBA Stats the Nuggets have been worse defensively with Faried on the floor in all five seasons he’s been in the league. In four of the last five seasons (2014-15 is the exception) Denver has been worse overall with the Manimal on the court than off.

...While Faried is energetic and prone to producing highlight worthy dunks he’s nearly Ryan Anderson-bad defensively with a long trail of making his team worse when he’s on the floor.

With you on this 100%. Not sure if they start with this rotation but I'm guessing after the 2nd unit offense stagnates for awhile, Frazier gets into and stays in the rotation. One of only 3 guys on this entire team that can create shots for others. Starters will be fine with Jrue and AD, but the 2nd unit as most people are projecting will have a ton of problems running a half court offense. That's where I see Frazier coming in.

I agree, ok let me get into true Tigerdroppings form:

Anyone who want Faried are "Stupid Idiots". Faried statistically one of the worst Defensive PFs in the league. Since he been paid his attitude and passion has changed, his stats has declined, and he has been a total douche off the court.

What really pisses me off is "stupid idiots" like all of you that all believe that trading our first for everything and all of our future assets for C+ players is what's best for business.

But then whine and complain how bad this franchise and Demps is with trades, yet you "stupid idiots" are the ones who is begging for our demise right now!

Kenneth faried is not the answer or Savior to our woes, but lucky for you jackasses I'll give you all something that is good for you all, I'll give you all " the gift of Silverfoxx, Drink it in maaaaaaaaaaaan"
