Being that he was a 2012 2nd round pick, Dell views him as being worth 5 1st rounders.

Right, but if he can hit the 3 well enough that goes along way to making him useufl. I also wonder if he's still the dirty work, defensive minded role player. TBW has a short article out that mentions he won a Finals MVP in his league last year. LINK

We wanted shooter in Young...
Found shooter in Miller.

We will see how he will look in the camp.
Maybe typical Dells move. Probably for unguaranteed minimum

So what are we expecting realistically?

Average d and 38% 3pt on three attempts a game in 12 minutes?

12 MPG is probably a little light. He's either ready for the NBA or not at this point. If he makes the cut then I don't see why he can't give us useful backup minutes like Moore and Galloway did. I'm not sure who he'd be closer to though. Galloway was more of a volume 3 point shooter averaging 5 3s a game vs. Moore's 2.8 Miller shot a little over 5 3s a game in Europe last year. So best case scenario is maybe a mix of the 2?

I'm probably getting a little ahead of myself though, I just remember him being a high IQ ball mover which is something this team has been desperate for, so I'm hoping the rest of his skill set has caught up.

Agreed. He had athleticism and no shot. I'd rather solo shoot a corner three than him.

meh, He clearly wasn't ready for the NBA in 2012, perhaps a few years refining his game across the pond might have help him bring a little production off the bench.. But yea, what you said.

If both Miller and James Young make the team, and we re-sign Archie Goodwin; then the Pels can finally put on the court an All-Kentucky lineup. Dell is secretly recruiting Coach Cal to be Uncle Al's successor. Holy shite mind blown

TBW just retweeted this

I don't think Demps would bring him back unless he thought he was ready.

This could be just a "refill" move because Dell is about to move an unguaranteed contract guy(s) in a bigger deal. Maybe Toupane is about to be moved and Miller is a low risk replacement?

This is also probably wishful thinking...

That's kind of the overarching theory. Don't know what's in the works as this organization is not really a leaky kind of team. We didn't we were in on Solo until we signed him, I think. Same for Moore.

Let's hope his struggles the first time around was due to slow adjustment to the league. I hope he's one of those guys who developed slow but when he "gets" it and the game slows down for him and we finally see the tools on full display.

I've always liked him and never understand why he was struggling so much. His skillset should have translated. He is a prototypical wing with everything you'd want. I hope he sticks this time around.

Sportando @Sportando

Darius Miller's contract with the Pelicans expected to be for two years, for more than $3 million, per sources

That would be about the cost of a league minimum deal.

Yep, that's the minimum for 2 years experience. I am assuming it is not guaranteed.
