I recognize the only way that will likely happen is by us getting a bit of luck and moving up in the lottery.

Not really we're really close to the 3 spot we just have to stop fricking around and winning. Now we're back at 7.

That's a Number 1, a Number 3, and a Number 4 or 5 on a good team.

I think it is being down played a little there.

Davis is a Top 5 player in the league. Holiday would be considered a more elite player in a different market and is probably down graded in most people's eyes because of recent injury issues.

Hield is a promising rookie. Not really fair to say he can't be a solid 3rd option in the future.

Also list what you are calling good teams so I can understand how you are ranking these guys. Since I would round out the other top 5 players as James, Durant, Curry, and Westbrook that means there are only three teams with potentially better players than Davis.

Gentry needs to get his head out of his arse and they need to have the complementary players show up.

Let's just list the best teams in the league. The top echelon hes probably equal to 3rd best. The 2nd tier he'd be 2nd best, but they also have better surrounding cast overall than us.

Cleveland. Is jrue better than Kyrie? No. Equal to love, sure.

Golden state. Is jrue better than curry? No. Last years team, better than Klay? No. Equal to draymond? Sure.

LA clippers. Better than cp3? No. Better than a healthy griffin? No. Equal to dj? Sure.

San Antonio. Better than kawhi? No. Better than LMA? Maybe. Parker? Probably better than him. San Antonio is an outright unique situation though.

Houston. Better than harden? No. Better than Gordon? Overall yes, but they need elite shooting surrounding harden and he is that for them. He'd be their 2nd best.

Toronto. Better than Lowry or DeRozan? No. Valanciunas? Maybe same.

Boston. Has Thomas and a bunch of #3 option guys in horford, Bradley, and Crowder and holiday fits that mold.

That was my point.

In the Pelicans' division they have at worst the second best duo with maybe the Spurs being better.

This isn't even taking into consideration that Davis is one of the best players in the league. So a combo of Davis and Holiday is a good one considering their combo (two way players) is well rounded unlike some other players in the league.

Honestly it is sickening to think how poor our luck was with injuries. I still think our medical an training staff is partially to blame.

A fully healthy team of Davis, Holiday, Evans, Gordon, Anderson, and Pondexter could have been strong.

I think Houston would take Holiday over Gordon.
