I wonder if Swaggy will keep trying on defense if he comes here. He was actually a solid defender last year compared to the rest of the Lakers. Does he keep giving a frick over here?

Yeah, kind of simultaneous with the news of the Wolves offer to Young a report came out that they also had a S&T lined up to get CJ Miles because they know the Room Exception probably isn't enough to get it done.

The number one thing we can offer a guy like Young is playing time and open shots. He's clearly behind Butler/Teague if he goes to Minny and receive less money. Maybe we are one of the other teams negotiating with Indy about Miles.

Joel just said on NBA Radio that Young may be amiable to a one year deal as he is "betting on himself" since his agent supposedly wanted him to opt in with the Lakers

You don't give up Moore to get Miles, that's a lateral move and Moore is a reliable guy that already knows the system. But Ajinca and sweetener would be fine. I also don't think you go after both Young and Miles other than hedging your bets. Like NOFOX is saying, one advantage we have is offering opportunity for shooters, but if you grab 1 then the opportunity is no longer there for the other.

I'm not saying the Pels wouldn't want to do it, I'm saying I think picking up one reduces the attractiveness of our pitch to the other. Adding both for Ajinca and filler and using the MLE seems like a deep and balanced roster 1-3 once they add a -Lawson/Rondo type.
Holiday/Lawson/Cook
Young/Moore/Crawford
Hill/Miles
AD/Diallo
Cousins/Scrub
They'd still need a competent 3rd big on the cheap, especially if taxes keep you from bringing back Cunningham.
