@daldridgetnt: Have been told the Pelicans' sheet to Tyreke Evans is four years, $44 million.

@WojYahooNBA: To clear salary for Tyreke Evans or sign-and-trade w/ Kings, Pelicans expected to try and unload Robin Lopez, league source tells Y!

7/2

8:30 UPDATE @ESPNSteinLine: Going online now: Sources say Kings have made Andre Iguodala their free-agent priority, pushing Tyreke Evans closer & closer to New Orleans https://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9446287/sacramento-kings-make-andre-iguodala-their-free-agent-priority-according-sources

7/3

1AM As USA Today reported, source tells Y! that Sacramento has withdrawn its four-year, $56 million offer from Denver free agent Andre Iguodala. -woj

12:30 PM @WojYahooNBA: It is possible Tyreke Evans never signs the proposed $44M offer sheet with Pelicans, sources tell Y! Sports. Still a fluid scenario.

5:30 PM @ESPNSteinLine: Story going online now w@GoodmanESPN: Sources say Kings RFA Tyreke Evans is ready for change of scenery and wants to wind up in New Orleans https://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9448966/sources-tyreke-evans-wants-join-new-orleans-pelicans

6:00 PMCarmichael Dave ?@CarmichaelDave 1m
Sources close to Tyreke Evans flat out refute ESPN report, still very open to resigning with Sacramento. Evans' camp, when asked about the ESPN report, responded at first with a simple "Not True".

Jason Jones ?@mr_jasonjones 7m
Tyreke Evans is stil waiting on the Kings to make him an offer before committing to New Orleans. Evans can agree to sign the offer sheet, the Kings can still match it. Wants to give Kings every chance to make an offer better than N.O. FTR, Tyreke Evans is put off by lack of an offer, not being top priority, but not to the point he wouldn't play for the Kings.

6:15 PM @SportsCenter: Tyreke Evans will sign four-year, $44 million offer sheet with New Orleans Pelicans. (via @ESPNSteinLine and @GoodmanESPN)

8:45 PM @ESPNSteinLine: Earlier story clearly pointed in this direction, but just heard Pelicans & Tyreke Evans are indeed now in process of finalizing offer sheet

9:00 PM @sam_amick: Tyreke Evans has given the New Orleans Pelicans a verbal agreement that he'll sign the four-year, $44 million offer sheet, I'm told.ESPN 1st

7/4

8:15 AM The Kings will not match the four-year, $44 million offer sheet that Tyreke Evans has agreed to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. According to sources close to the situation, the new Kings management group instead is hoping to close Thursday on a sign-and-trade agreement involving Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez and backup center Robin Lopez. LINK

11:00 AM @sam_amick: Per @ailene_voisin report on Kings/NO trade, no deal done but scenario would send Robin Lopez to Portland, Vasquez to Sac, Evans to Pelicans. Kings have other situations still in play, however, but obviously looking to get something for Evans rather than merely letting him walk.

3:00 PM Minor update: LINK

3:30 PM @WojYahooNBA: Free agent Jose Calderon passed on chance to sign w/ Kings, clearing way for Sacramento to complete 3-way deal w/ Pelicans, sources tell Y!

3:45 PM Adrian Wojnarowski ?@WojYahooNBA 1m
In proposed 3-way deal, Kings send Tyreke Evans to Pelicans, Nola's Vasquez to Kings and Robin Lopez to Blazers. Port sends picks and cash.

Marc Stein ?@ESPNSteinLine 53s
New Orleans, Portland and Sacramento have just verbally agreed to complete three-way trade July 10 that locks up Tyreke Evans as a Pelican

Marc Stein ?@ESPNSteinLine 36s
Pelicans had to find trade for Lopez or release him Friday for $500,000. Portland wanted him from start and Sacramento jumped in for Vazquez

LINK

4:45 PM @ESPNSteinLine: Sources say Pelicans, already hot for Evans, were all in when Reke told them he'd be willing to be sixth man in New Orleans if necessary

6:45 PM Adrian Wojnarowski ?@WojYahooNBA 1m

Portland will send Jeff Withey to Pelicans as part of 3-team deal, league source tells Y!

general manager Dell Demps promised after Thursday night’s draft they were going to do everything possible to improve their roster this offseason.

Apparently he wasn’t kidding because the Pelicans were scheduled to meet with Sacramento Kings restricted free agent shooting guard Tyreke Evans just after 11 p.m. Sunday, when teams can officially start negotiating with free agents, league sources confirmed.

Although not confirmed, the Pelicans could be looking to work out a sign-and-trade deal with the Kings to possibly move point guard Greivis Vasquez or starting shooting guard Eric Gordon.

As a restricted free agent, the Kings can match any offer that Evans receives. But the Pelicans may extend an offer the Kings are unwilling to match, which could force their hand in a sign-and-trade deal. The Kings extended a qualifying offer to Evans last week that made him become a restrictive free agent.

So he doesn't want to play SF, and we don't need him to play PG. Which means this ends up being a sign and trade for Gordon. It's really the only way I can see this happening.

Is Evans > Gordon?

Took this from a Kings message board. Don't know how credible it is though.

The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly making Tyreke Evans a large offer, starting at $11,378,284.

A healthy Gordon? No.

Healthy always being the extremely operative word with him.

Not credible.

Taken from a tweet from some blog that was just looking at the max we could offer if we basically get rid of everyone with an option.

it's from here LINK

Long story short, if the expected salary cap comes to fruition, the Pelicans could offer Evans a contract starting at $11,378,284. More than likely, that would prevent the Kings from matching and make Evans a Pelican. Even more likely, New Orleans wouldn’t offer quite that much, but that’s the amount available.

Look, I'm pulling back on the arguments against Tyreke, because it is happening whether I like it or not.

But I think pretty much everyone will agree that a pairing of Tyreke and Iguodala would be a bad one.

Just checked their numbers for last year and Evans was definitely better. The only place Gordon was better was from the FT line.

That guy only has 298 followers and over 6,000 tweets. He's probably just a fan.

Not very credible. In the karaoke thread that got anchored they saw that this figure actually came from a guy that had calculated cap space available. There is absolutely no reason to assume we'd throw every spare dollar we have at Evans. Other than Gordon's deal, which was matching someone else's offer, Demps has gotten good to great deals on everyone he's signed.

Evans can also play 3 positons, which gives Monty a ton of lineup flexibility

They don't seem to bring the exact same skill sets.

The main difference is that Evans' offense comes from around the rim (51% of his shots) and Gordon's offense comes from jump shots (79% of his shots).

If we're replacing Gordon with Evans, then we need guys who can hit the 3. Holiday, Anderson, and Vasquez can do that, but I'm not sure if Vasquez is sticking around or who our new 3 will be.
