Saw some stuff the 247 guys were talking about on twitter, and some PR poster claims to have a source on the team. This source told him about Monty not getting along with some of the players, and that Monty and the FO want Iggy badly. He also claims to have a tidbit about Eric Gordon that he'd be back with later.

Obviously we need a vet, but I think it'll be tough to get him without overpaying. Though that all depends on if there's any truth to this

I've been hearing people touting Iggy for more than two years now. No doubt he's an elite athlete. He's a great defender and finisher on offense at the rim. But he's typically a third scoring option, right? So is he worth the $?

I guess I could understand the point of bringing him in on a 3 year deal. He'd be a good vet for the younger guys to learn from and him. Then down the road, he could be one of those guys as a trade asset with an expiring contract in a few years.

IF this is true, doesn't this concern you guys? First it was MT5, and now other players. Forget my stance on Monty. I know coaches and players don't see eye to eye at times, but Monty's only been here 3 years. How can this bode well for future FA's?

It isn't true. Consider the source.

If tons of players hated him, I'm sure word would have gotten out and he wouldn't have been invited to coach for Team USA, especially with the face of the franchise being on the team.

Yep. Coach K even said players love to play for Monty in his press conference today.

He was spot on about Benson and Pelicans. When was he wrong? The only other prediction he made was that Gordon would be gone by the deadline next year

Hmmmmm . . . well yours truly knew and said at the time that Benson (who had pulled out earlier) was back in the running and that the league wanted him. But hey . . . I don't like to brag.

He posts way too many stupid trades to be classified as anything other than...special. Attention whore fits too.

quote:

ok im back, about Gordon, the player that i will not name told me that the team doctor's and coaches have expressed that Gordon with his injury was actually scheduled to take about 2 years for recovery, not just physically but also said basketball wise it takes about 2 years to work through the injury and work through the rust especially after going to a new team and developing chemistry, and the team expects him to be 100% for training camp and the season for the first time since joining the hornets and are not looking to trade him unless a blockbuster trade comes through and they are expecting him to average about 23 to 24 points with 4-5 assists and 4-5 rebounds per game. they knew he wasnt healthy this year and he would be rusty which was evident in his ball handling and conditioning but that he will be 100% and are completely expecting him to take the league by storm and live up to his contract.

basically, the pelicans are expecting Gordon to be the player who should be and that he will live up to his potential this year.

Know how I know you're making stuff up? You think Gordon can average 4-5 rebounds per game. His career Per 36 minutes rebound rate is 2.6, now he's going to double that?

He's really not a great basketball mind. I'll put it that way, since I think he posts here (theory).

I'm trying to be a nicer, more diplomatic poster.
