We talking about 2 fricking points man....if we have to bitch about 2 points being taken away causing us to lose we are in trouble. This team plays zero defense and you bitching about 2 points. SMH
Until 1 point no longer wins games, we'll complain about 2 points being taken away.

We won 3 out of the 4 quarters tonight. I know it doesn't mean much but that 2nd quarter sunk us.

I know this game was close but in all seriousness we're not getting the best game from our competition. The Pelicans are a doormat and no team is going to be excited to play the worst team in the league. So please spare us the wow this game was close talk.

I've watched every quarter of the pelicans in the first 5 games except tonight's 4th. so, for the good of the team and Anthony davis, should I refrain from watching them this year? I really don't want to but I will sacrifice for the good of the team and our fans

0-5

What else do you have other than we're losing in close games now?

Missed tonight's game due to a fancy engagement. The loss is disappointing, but it looks like AD got his shite together. His 43/3/10 + 4 steals and 3 blocks is huge. That's seriously all I care about. The wins will start coming as long as he is playing well, and they'll start racking up once we get healthy.

Jrue's stat line is concerning, though. As is the defense. But I think that will get better as
1) Jrue gets healthier and shakes of the rust. I know that sounds crazy, but he has very little game time over the past year, and he still shows flashes of what he can do.
2) QPon and Reke get back. I think Jrue, QPon, and Reke are our finishing back court. And as tarded as Reke is in help/team defense, he's graded out as an elite on ball defender.

The game started off looking like what we've seen for most of the year with Davis struggling for space to work. They were doubling and triple teaming him every possession, even off the ball. There's a picture in the game thread where all 5 Hawks have at a foot in the paint crowding Davis.

For whatever reason, Atl did a lot less doubling and tripling in the second half, and Davis went to work. Newsflash: He still can't be guarded one-on-one when he turns and faces up. He finally got some open midrange jumpers, which is his bread and butter and the shot that I think gets him going. Despite Gentry's 3 point emphasis, Davis needs plays for 15 footers run for him. They're layups when he's open. When he was doubled he passed out well, finally got out in transition, and got some o rebs.

One thing that i've loved all year is how much he's getting to the line. He was 14-16 tonight. Once he settles into the offense, if he keeps getting to the line like this, he could be around 30 points a night

Defense was terrible. No resistance from our guards, just layup lines to the paint.

The second half was the most spirited ball they've played all year though. Guys were on the floor, the crowd was into it, just couldn't get stops.

Well first, the post I had responded to contradicts itself.

2nd, at your premise. Has nothing to do with our winning/losing. You're trying to make our 0-5 even worse for some stupid and retarded reason

I was pretty close up last night and, while disappointing, there were some encouraging signs.

One negative is that our guard play just gets no respect and rightfully so. I haven't looked at Jrue's stats, but he wasn't a difference maker last night. And, for God's sake, Ish.

The Hawks were playing really, really tight defense on a lot of possessions and we didn't seem to have anyone that could break it down last night.

'Reke will make a big difference, imo, on offense.

The defense for the Pels is a head scratcher. Too many lapses. You would think it would be correctable, but that remains to be seen.

The good news is that the play in the fourth quarter was solid, in spite of a couple of mind boggling calls by the refs. Not that it's his forte', but think Anderson played solid on defense. And these guys kept playing hard.

I really believe this will be a different team with 'Reke, Qpon and Asik healthy (relative term, I know).
