Who is Omri Casspi and how is he leading the NBA in 3-point shooting?

quote:

His shooting success this season follows a blistering finish to 2014-15 when he shot 46 percent from deep over the 29 games he played under Karl. So, in 59 games with the coach, Casspi is 88-for-184 from long-range, a 48 percent clip.

Excited to see what he can do with Jrue and the attention that AD and Boogie should get.

My erection has lasted well over four hours by now. Do I need to call a doctor?

Depends how old you are. If you're over 50, I'd call all your friends and brag.

I don't know shite about the guy, but he can obviously shoot it from deep, and he apparently isn't a bad defender. Sounds like we got two steals.

Casspi is a spot up stretch guy that will give us some shooting and versatility. Underrated player IMO

I wonder how well this could work if you play him as the "SG" if you put jrue-solo with him.

I assume solo would have to defend the other teams SG. Casspi is 6'9".

He might have to...as of now, we only have 1 SG on the roster with only 2 days to make a roster move.

His free throw percent is pretty low considering he is a decent shooter. Either way, he may flourish with the right pieces. I'm more inclined to think he'll be thrown in another trade.

He has a pretty weird release and i believe he usually only shoots when open.

I'm not saying he's an all star or anything, but I think he's good enough to stretch the floor at the 3 and being 6'9 is nice

No way he can play the 2. Not good enough athlete. After watching his highlights he seems to be more of a Stretch 4 than a true 3. He lacks the quickness and ball handling to play the 3 in a full time role..He can shoot his tail off. I just watched his 2016 highlights and it looks like most of his
Damage was done while being guarded by power forwards here is the link if anyone is interested. LINK

he is a serviceable player but lets not get carried away over a guy who is averaging 6 points a game and is shooting below 60% from the free throw line this season

keep it in perspective

There have been a few Kings fans come over to PR to talk about the trade and they said that Casspi was their 2nd or 3rd best player last year, but that the new coach didn't play him much this season for whatever reason. They said he should be healthy very soon and that he can definitely contribute for this team. I'm cautiously optimistic about him.

I believe it. He averaged 12 pts & 6 rebounds last year. He's banged up & has only played 397 minutes this year.

You mean like this:

R/Kings melting hard over throwing him in the trade too. They think he's easily their 2nd best player

quote:

Sad part, he alone is better than anything we are getting back, and we decided to "just throw him in the deal"

quote:

He was my favorite King in his second tenure here, to see him go without any fanfare makes me sad. I appreciate everything he did here and hope he does well in NOLA in the future.

quote:

Guaranteed sparkplug off the bench and always ready to play. Shame he fell out of Joerger's rotations, hopefully he gets more minutes on the Pelicans.
