Barring a lotto ball bounce into the top 2...

Pelicans send: S&T Ryno + S&T EG
to Kings for: Rudy Gay + 1st Rd Pick (9)

$89mm cap?
No Rudy, puts them almost $38mm under the cap...
Should be enough to sign Ryno and EG...
Resigning Rondo over the cap...

$92mm cap?
Maybe they dump McLemore somewhere, and want Gee from us too.
Now they are getting close to almost being able to sign Ryno, EG, Rondo under the cap.

Not counting on moving Reke(Denver?), but Ajinca should be easy to move.
Now we are taking Hield/Dunn/Murray at 6... and my boy Poeltl at 9.
Strike out on the big FAs, but sign Evan Fournier.

Jrue Holiday/ Kris Dunn/ Tim Frazier
Tyreke Evans/ Evan Fournier/ Bryce Dejean-Jones
Rudy Gay/ Quincy Pondexter/ James Ennis
Anthony Davis/ Dante Cunningham/ Luke Babbitt
Omer Asik/ Jacob Poeltl

LEAGUE FCKED!

The Kings would never do that... Well I shouldn't say that because they're the Kings but that would be absolutely retarded by them.

A S&T is hard enough as it is and we are going to do two to a single team? And that team will give up a 1st rounder as well to get those guys that they can maneuver and sign in free agency? OK

I just keep trying to find a home for Ryno, with a team that has a pick of value to offer.... I've got a feeling Sacramento is ready to shake things up, one way or another.

What if it's the other way around? Vlade decides Willie Cauley-Stein is playing out of control, and it's time to get max value for Boogie, and keep this youth movement going?

What if it's S&T Ryno + Pelicans 1st + ?
for Boogie + Gay?
Then SAC is taking Dunn at 6, and a high upside project like Jaylen Brown, Henry Ellenson or Ivan Rabb at 9... With still $30MM+ in cap to spend.

Remember, the Kings 2016 1st Round pick almost went to Chicago...
It's Top 10 protected for 2016, and 2017....
They want to be back in the lottery again next year, or else lose the pick.
Josh Jackson or Harry Giles... added to that young core...

It's gonna be blown up. I just hope we can benefit.

This is a common mistake of trade machinery. You look at your assets vs. what you're asking for and think, "that's reasonable value." And maybe it is, but the problem is you're competing in a trade market. Boston, Philly, Phoenix and Denver all have 3 1sts this year and Boston/Phoenix/Denver have attractive non core players to trade. We can't compete for Boogie or Butler without winning the lottery.

Another common mistake is including pending FAs in trades for draft picks. No team is going to make a pick for another team with the hope that the other team's FA will choose to sign with them. While the pick you make might end up being a desirable trade piece anyway like Wiggins was for Cleveland/Minnesota, this just isn't something you can work out in advance. June picks and July FAs just can't be combined like you're trying to do here.

The best return you can expect for Ryno is probably other players, like Gay from Sac or maybe Patterson and Ross from Toronto.

S&T Ryno + S&T EG

Serious question- How many times in the last 5 years or so has an UFA been signed and traded?

Ariza comes to mind, and all both teams really got out of it was potentially more cap space/exceptions on paper that neither ended up using. I remember we almost had a S&T set up for David West to Boston where we'd have gotten a few young prospects that ended up amounting to not much, but at the last minute he decided to go to Indy which didn't need to trade for him and we got nothing. If we get anything for Anderson we should be thankful for scraps and hope it doesn't come with a bad contract.

Why do the Kings need to do a S&T to get Ryno?

They don't, in the OP's scenario it was part of unloading Gay.

this.
We have no assets. If we send a player out, we are going to lose our shirts on the deal.
