It seem like the price for the free agents going right now has come back down to earth Hibbert and Jennings both for 5mil a season

Lance Thomas' contract is a 4-year deal with standard raises of 7.5 percent, sources say. Starts at around $6.1 million.

Kinda feeling like we just paid twice as much for a player that has only shown himself to be marginally better.

Getting deja vu of the whole Asik contract when guys arguably as good or better like Kosta Koufas go for less years and cheaper and players like Biyombo go for practically nothing.

Yea I agree I was hoping we could have gotten him especially on that contract I think he would be solid in the gentry system

80% of the cap space goes to say the top 40% of Free Agents. The top FAs are always overpaid. Once the bulk of the money dries up the players remaining come cheap.

Yup. There's always a flurry, and then a ton of guys slip through the cracks.

Which is why I don't like the Hill contract. Let someone else grossly overpay for 4 ppg scorers.

I guess this thread is sticking even though the first thread was quite easy to follow.

pat muldowney ?@patmuldowney If we're all ever gonna come together, please let it be to stuff the All Star ballot box to see KD, Steph, Klay & Dray start alongside Russ.

He wasn't a 4 ppg scorer when he actually got minutes

Yeah, but let's say Hill is in the bottom 5% of that top 40%. Sure you could sign someone in essentially the same tier much cheaper, but does that guy fit as well as Hill and/or does that guy even want to sign with the Pels? We still aren't considered a sure playoff team so there's no guarantee you can get the cheap guy in the same tier. And if you miss out on that you end up where we were when we tried to replace RoLo with Stiemsma. It's a bird in the hand situation.

Guys like Jennings and hibbert aren't going to sign here

They'll chase playoff teams or big markets

I think we're getting to the point of free agency where we could get guys to come to us on reasonable contracts if they know they will get regular minutes but we don't have money anyway
