Buddy is very underrated, watched alot of his games. The kid is a competitor and steps up when needed. Will be a solid nba player.

I like the pick. He's got that dog in him. Works hard. Not afraid to take the big shot.

Yeah, Gentry had trouble utilizing Thornton....

I completely agree. I think his floor is something like JJ Reddick, solid contributor.

His ceiling though is being an all star year after year, one of the best shooters in the league.

I really like the pick a lot for the Pelicans, hard worker, ready to contribute and lead right away, should compliment AD nicely

I posted this in the D Wade thread, but Hield's 2P% at the rim is much much higher than I thought it was.

I wasn't so happy when we selected Hield. Mainly because I'm always weary of the No-Name guy the NCAA Markets, but if you remove that stigma, he's actually a very solid ball player.

This is one comparison I have heard and would honestly like some input from others who have seen him play more than I have (which is once at PMAC). I have heard floor would be Thornton and ceiling could be Gilbert Arenas? Thoughts?

Buddy knows how to fill up a basket. That's what we need.

He's as good a scorer as the college game gas seen.

I love the pick.

What a shock, you found the person that didn't like it.

It's the only draft breakdwon I've listened to. His cohost Danny Leroux agrees with him fwiw.

Reasoning:

Pick will come back to bite NOLA. Team needs to swign for the fences, should have gone with the player with more potential to pair with Davis. Pick was good to help the team win next year, but not win a title.

Murray has much higher ceiling. Better passer, can go both ways off the dribble. More versatile jumper.

Hield struggles to shoot off of the dribble going right Doesn't shoot well off of screens, Buddy shoots set shot.

This team has generated a ridiculous amount of wide open perimeter shots even under Monty, so I don't see that as a problem. The team has also seen enough of a not quite big enough SG getting owned on defense that I'm comfortable with their reasoning for picking Buddy over Murray. Erman's defensive success is built with good perimeter defense.
