I know TigerATL debated whether to even start a draft thread because the suspense of will the Pels sell #51 or take some scrub is probably not worth the effort of posting.

However, pretty much every NBA analyst/insider is suggesting that there are going to be fireworks tonight with lots of trades. With so many story lines out there, it will be very interesting to see the direction various teams go and whether some big names get moved.

We also have 2 division rivals picking at 4 (Memphis) and 5(Dallas). Whether they pick or trade out of those spots not only could impact the playoff race, it could impact resigning Boogie.

I wish I could somewhat care about the draft again.

I love having Niko but it has really gotten tiresome never having any draft picks or young talent.

I wonder if the front office is even having a draft huddle tonight or if dell is sitting at home waiting for the pick and just trading it to whoever calls or taking Bilas’ best available

Yeah there have literally been 0 rumors this offseason regarding the Pelicans. They won’t do anything of significance tonight.

I’m really concerned with how long Cousins takes to decide. He could end up taking a while and then other mid market targets that would we try to sign would then be gone by the time Cousins makes his decision.

It will go in tiers and Cousins will be in the second tier with George.

LeBron is tier 1 alone

I honestly think Cousins is Tier 3 if Lebron is Tier 1 by himself.

LeBron will hold up the entire market. If he doesn't decide quickly that will buy the Pels time.

Gortat says he's 99% sure he'll get traded soon. "The decision has been made by the front office." Says he's anticipating a move to the Western Conference within a couple of days.

DC is one of the teams the pels could potentially swing a deal with, boogie and non-boogie related

Mike Scotto put out an article discussing the Mavs and Boogie, but it is behind a paywall at the Athletic. Anyone a subscriber want to give a summary?

I know you didn't say this, but for those trying to read between the lines, a Boogie S&T cannot be set up until July. There is no way this ties into a potential Boogie to Washington scenario other than Washington dumping salary now makes a Boogie S&T to the Wizards easier to accomplish.

I am sure Washington wants to clear space to give them flexibility. A S&T with Boogie becomes a LOT easier if they can dump Gortat or Bioymbo. If they can get rid of Gortat while keeping their 1st, they would be in good shape to propose a Porter for Boogie/Beal swap.

They might even be able to shed enough $$$ (Gortat/Kief/Smith) to trade Beal to a team with space for assets (Sixers) and then sign Boogie outright to a little less than max.
