In response to a question on why the Pelicans didn't appear to be considering Bennett

@RossThevenot47 From what I've heard, they don't think he can realistically play the 3.

If offered with
Bennett at #6 (likely means Noel, Len, Oladipo, McLemore and Porter are all gone), I don't know how you turn it down.

That would be fairly tempting. But I dont know if thats enough. They would have to be in love with a guy in that range (Karasev? a big?) The more I think about, OKC just doesnt have anything in the chamber.

Maybe they reach for MCW, CJM, or your boy KCP if Bennett falls to them.

McNamara got me paranoid with his post about CJM and a Dell conspiracy. Maybe they just grab him at 6?

Would like for the pelicans to trade an unprotected 2014 pick to Charlotte for MKG. I would then draft cj mccollum at #6.

How would everyone feel if we traded this years first (#6) for a first with a probable lottery team next year?

Really?

You get PJ3 and Lamb, both who would be top 10 picks this season, plus the #12 pick?

Seems like a no brainer.

If they really like MCW and the scenario fell into place with that OKC trade idea, you could get two really nice prospects and almost certainly MCW at 12.

Karasev sounds like a great pick, too.

Riddle me this...

If we end up at 12, who do we take?

SF Giannis Adetokoubu? Shabazz? Lucas Noguiera? MCW? Dennis Schroeder?

On top of that, would we have actual plans for Lamb and Jones or would it be a case of accumulating assets and then trying to make a deal with someone willing to develop htem?

We will have a better record than last year, so odds are very small we will be near the top pick in 2014.

Yeah. I went back and forth a bit. youre probably right. Just wary of Lamb/Jones giving nothing to a weak OKC bench.

Too many hypos swirling in my head I guess.

No reason to make it unprotected. You never know if you get lucky.

Any of the guys listed, if Demps likes one and has a plan for them.

It's a combo of the two. You will carry 13-15 players, so taking on two young guys with potential is smart. Lamb is a legit SG talent while Jones can be seen more upclose. Plus, the potential Gordon trade will shake up the roster for sure, so you may use or keep the two sophomore assets (Lamb really looks like a keeper).
