Have they announced what they are actually going to do yet?

They will be making any improvement that allows them to charge more money, so expect the focus to be on the club seating. Also, I don't know how it was worded in the final bill, but the initial rumors were that some of the money could be used on a practice facility which many speculate will be built at Airline Drive next to the Saints facilities. Info on that is in this thread LINK

They need to put better signs to clearly identify the exits. Whenever I'm wasted leaving games I often find myself in a janitor's closet. Not joking.

Hopefully they'll repaint the atrocious exterior.

its a very functional building that with a few modest enhancements could be attractive. It got absolutely no funding for aesthetics and really deserves some extra flair on its exterior.

we wouldn't have laned our team without it i kinda wish people would stop bashing it.

Here is an article summarizing things we knew a couple of months ago:

Since then, it seems that there could be some seating reconfiguration, at least in terms of what is club and what is not, etc., even if locations of most seats are totally unchanged.

There will be `guts and brains' sort of improvements that allow better productions. For instance, in-game replay capability, more video and lighting control and options, higher data throughput. Boring stuff, but stuff that `hooks' people and has effect on other events.

We may see some concession area changes.

We will most certainly see more digital media on the otherwise largely unchanged exterior.

Just pointing out hypocrisy on the board when I see it, that's all.

Installing a Rally's inside the Arena would be "pretty tight"

Last Sunday a Rep said they are adding alot more screens inside for replays, putting in more LED Boards, and completely re-doing the seats.

Also said the outside of the building facing US90/I10 will have video boards down the side.

They are also going to change the entrance to connect with Champions Square so you will enter from Champions Square.

This wasn't my rep so I can't vouch for his credibility, but it was a team employee.

I thought about this and actually mentioned it to someone with the team who could comment on such things. From looking at other venues, they incorporate alot more `outside' in their venues. I asked about moving the ticket takes to outside buzzfest and doing stuff like you said. It was not really being considered. It could have changed, or my contact could have been out of the loop.

They are doing to get CS more involved and will produce events there . . . but really think about it . . . why would they make it to where you had to go to CS? Right now we can go to it (and would if there was something going on), but making people coming down Girod walk all the way to the Grand Staircase, for instance, seems a little nuts.

Personally, I'd like to see them `fill in' the area above buzzfest, protecting it from the rain, allowing more standing room for Saints games, and allowing Hornets fans a place to roam, congregate, and chow before games away from Buzzfest.

When I was talking to the reps last weekend they said it will take place in stages. Ininltially it will be lighting that is as much for tv as for being in the arena. Probably will finish re-covering and padding premium seats.

Will definitely upgrade locker rooms. Probably will renovate the club on the expressway side.

Facade eventually will be improved. And, yep, entrance will be enhanced along the lines of Champions Square.

Not decided where practice facility will be built, but it's in the works.
