Torn ACL. Was on the defending championship team with talent all around and didn't make it to the tourney. Ill pass.

On the list of ridiculous reasons why not to draft Nerlens Noel, this is the new #1

Never said that, just don't want Noel. Oladipa, robinson, or porter would be a good pick for us. Still think Mclemore has the most potential though.

I dunno man, not saying those guys won't be solid pros

But they could just as easily be Xavier Henry clones as solid NBA starters. And none of them them have all-star potential.

Noel has that kind of potential. If he gets a post game then he could be something akin to Alonzo Mourning, IMO.

Meh, still don't want

I don't want him either. Dude has no offensive game whatsoever and we need people on this team that can score AND play defense. The rotation of Lopez, AD, Anderson is good enough for now. We need help deperately at SF, PG, and I would even say SG as well b/c EG will never be reliable enough to play a complete season. I hope Demps find a sucker team to trade his arse to next year.

I gotcha, I gotcha, but think about it this way...

You are the owner, you're gambling (What the draft really is) with your money, you have first pick, no one is offering trades for it, who do you take now? Sure solid players with no past injury or a high potential player who didn't work out for you because they are still finishing rehab?

I take the guy who I think will be the best NBA player for the next 10 years
If that guy happens to be rehabbing at the time, so be it

Using your logic, Dan Gilbert should have passed on Kyrie Irving for Derrick Williams

No genius. Kyrie was a phenom, was noel? Kyrie came back and played before the draft. Will noel?

Not to mention about 8 inch height difference.

In this shitty draft, Noel is the least shitty prospect

This. I think the fact that he is number 1 says more about this draft than him. As a prospect I would rank Andre Drummond coming out above Noel and I wasn't the biggest fan of Drummond because of the "if's" tied to him. Noel has even more.

Tyson chandler was the centerpiece on a championship team, sans a offensive game.

All Noel would need to do is catch oops and score on put backs. In theory, we will have a solid offensive team around him w EG, Gordon, and Ryno.

Noel weighed 206 at a camp in Febraury 2012. In April 2012, he weighed in at a camp at 216. To start his freshman season, he was 228. Dude is gonna grow. Not worried about ACL either. If he is BPA you take him

They plan to clone Gordon and figure one of them has to be healthy at any given time.

i hate the argument that Noels and Davis would be "too skinny".

so freaking dumb.

Their length would give people fits on defense. Ok, so you can back them down...guess what, they can still block your shot.

good luck running with them back down the floor.

good luck to guards penetrating the lane.

good luck having 2 post players to guard both these guys on offense.

so many more positives than "OMG they are gonna get backed down!!!"

1) Best Player in country B4 ACL
2) The draft is a long term selection not an overnight move.
3) The team he played on was not the same team that won the Championship.
4) Noel & AD could be the best Frontline in a few years
