I don't think the Suns let Oladipo get past them, but if so I'd be calling the Wolves to see what they're willing to give up for Oladipo.

Minny's current assets-

Derrick Williams ($5.3m, team option, qualifying offer)
JJ Barea ($4.7m, 2 seasons)
Luke Ridenour ($4.3m)
Alexey Shved ($3m, 2 seasons, then a QO)
Greg Stiemsma ($2.7m team option)
Dante Cunningham ($2.2m team option)

2013 1st from Memphis
2013 2nd from OKC
2013 2nd from Brooklyn
2014 2nd from New Orleans
2014 2nd from Lake Show
2015 2nd from Denver
2017 2nd from New Orleans - Top 55 protected

I'm leaving off players who obviously aren't going anyway on draft night, like Rubio, Love, Pekovic (RFAs can't be traded until after June 30), etc.

That would be nice. Picking up a player of future pick and still having a shot at Nogueira or McCollum sounds good to me.

Not much there, unless they feel like they can grab Derrick Williams and still get Burke at 9. That would be ideal, imo. Or maybe Williams + Mccollum at 9.

Williams won't do us much good, IMHO, as he is more of a stretch 4 like Anderson than a 3.

We'd end up with a pupu platter of a late 1st this year and some 2nds while hoping that someone of worth, be it Burke, Shabazz, etc., would still be available at 9.

Im just saying IF we were to do a deal with Minny.

And is Williams any worse of an option at the 3 than Aminu has been? I don't really think so.

Williams played some 3 as a rookie and was OK but not great.

He was made primarily a 4 last year because Adleman didn't think he was capable of playing the 3 at the NBA level, even as a backup to AK47.

Williams will also cost us more than Aminu, at $5.3m this season, an option of $6.7m next season, and a huge qualifying offer the offseason after that.

That's a lot of money for someone who hasn't shown more than 2-3 good games in the league.

I wouldn't mind Cunningham and a future 2nd rounder, but I think future picks would be the main part of any trade deal.

Thats just not true. The guy was basically a 15pt 7reb player the last 3 months

I wouldn't be overjoyed about getting Williams either, but he's not a bad player

McCollum would be nice. Noguiera? Pass. The guy is like 180. I can't see him being a factor in the NBA for a long time, if ever.

As a 4, not a 3, given his production statistics from 82Games.com.

Unless we move Anderson, we don't have the minutes to play him there.

Was about to post this too. He actually played more minutes (and had a higher PER) at Center than SF.

As a power forward. The dude can not play the 3. He can't play it defensively either. At least Aminu gave us that. Have no interest in a guy who would be our 4th string pf.

I think someone posted a blurb about Demps not being too high on Oladipo a couple days ago.

Somehow this turned into me plugging Williams into our starting lineup as a future all star small forward.

The question was asked, what we might get from Minny for them to trade up. Williams is the obvious answer. Thats all.

Im not pushing for that trade. All I was saying is that Williams is actually a decent player. People seem to think he's some huge bust.

This gives a little more hope for Porter.

He may be a decent player but one with a huge price tag and is only capable of playing the one position where we're stacked.

Hence, why so many people immediately write him off around here.

We're coming off a 27 win season. We shouldn't be writing off any decent players, even if he's just brought in as a future trade asset. I tend to think he has a Jeff Green type of career. Great player? No. Decent trade asset? Sure.

Particularly if we're just moving back a few spots and could still potentially get the player we wanted at 6.
