so if they don't want cash and they don't want rookies I'm not sure what they get back for a second round pick that helps them.
The problem is that the Colangelos were brought in to make the team shift from The Process to Win Now mode. They may want useful parts but as you said they won't get them. The best they're going to get is someone like Frazier, but at this point trading for Fraziers and moving forward is probably better than drafting more kids that need looking after. If you have 4 picks in the 2nd, it's very likely that 3 will be a total waste of their time and resources.
Either flip them for future 2nds, or Fraziers.

I guess but they can sign fraziers off the street with their cap space
or make a run at some RFAs
if I'm dell I just straight up offer to buy a 2nd, or swap two futures for one this year
burning Frazier for one isn't necessarily needed

David Pick? @IAmDPick
Source: Olympiacos will unload Patric Young in offseason upon completion of their $1.8 million agreement.
I'm not sure if "unload" means won't resign, pick up his option or they're cutting him, but it sounds like he'd be available without a buyout if the Pels want him.

it is a payment which foreign players has to pay to their club to be able to go to the NBA. There are some limits on it (1 million? 1,5 million?). so sometimes franchise is paying an amount and player is paying the rest. It is not going into cap spca (this buyout) - it only limits your cash transactions per year.
f.e. last year' Saric
"Days after Saric announced his intention of coming to the NBA, Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo has officially informed Saric’s Turkish team, the Anadolu Efes, that they will be buying him out out his contract for a price of $1 million".

on the other hand You might be right
cause young signed 2 year deal in 2015.
but contracts in Europe usually have NBA outs

Not sure if you all discussed him yet but what do you think of Josh Hart at 40? (Assuming he is there)

FWIW Kevin Pelton has Josh Hart at #13 on his big board. I think KP had him ranked #9 overall in his just stats projections.
The other guy I am personally in love with is Monte Morris. KP had him #3 overall in his just stats projection. Morris can just run the hell out of a pick in roll. Reminds me a lot of Jeremy Lin.
Either one of those guys I would be happy with. Both are probably "NBA Ready" next year too. Which, Dell Demps is no doubt looking for.
The one reservation about Hart is that he got dominated in the combine scrimmages last year. While that is easy to dismiss, that scrimmage is where Diallo dominated last year. So I would be hesitant to just dismiss it.

I believe the NBA.com mock 3.0 had Hart to us at 40.

quote:#13? Pelton is nuts to think he is the 13th best player in the draft. I would think his ceiling would be late 1st with a mid-2nd floor. We have a shot at him at 40. I have seen some project Ojeleye falling to 40. That would be a nice get. I would like to see Ferguson or Evans available but do not see either falling to us at 40.

Ya. I like reading Pelton's stuff because he uses metrics and draft board aggregation so his rankings don't suffer as much from group think.
If he thinks, Hart is the #13 overall prospect, I like him going on a limb to just say what he thinks.
Just look at last years draft - if you could do it all over again, Brogdon is probably a lottery pick. (A lot of boards had Thon Maker much lower as well, even though he went in the lottery.

I don't understand that article at all
Sixers actually cannot take back anymore cash this year. The bottom 2 second rounders are allegedly available for trade for future 2nds. They will either trade them for future seconds, trade up into the end of the 1st, or do euro stashes.
