Monty is a top 3 assistant coach in this league. I truly believe that. Being a head coach is just too much for him.

I wouldn't go that far, but I think he would be a pretty good assistant coach

Based on what? What does he bring to the table as an assistant, and how does that make him among the three best in the league?

I don't necessarily agree that he will never be a H.C. The Thunder is already looking at him as an assistant. This was his first H.C. stint and other teams will take this into account. He will probably never change his demeanor but you can always adjust your philosophy if its not quite right. Unless you are a fool.

Monty will be a HC again... there just needs to be the right fit

he'd be great for a young rebuilding team not necessarily trying to win right away. think of all the guys he developed here

As young as Monty is and with the league's tendency to recycle coaches, I think you're wrong. I'm not going to look it up but I think Gentry has a losing record and he is the running for the Pels job.

Gentry's winning percentage is basically the same as Monty. Both have been to the playoffs twice as a HC, Monty in 5 years and Gentry in 12.

He'll be hired the next time a team needs to plausibility tank. Just like Byron Scott.

The person who downvoted this clearly doesn't like the truth.

those that are saying that I bet didn't watch us at all this year or very little. they are just looking at the record improvement and saying he improved

I'm happy to be turning over a new leaf and getting a new HC but this is asinine. To give him zero credit for making the playoffs with the injuries AND lack of depth, caused by Demps, is wrong. Glad he's gone, though.

but you they probably have those that see a handful of games and just assume we played great lol. I'd hope NBA execs are better than that but I don't know lol

Wow lol lol

Anybody calling for Doc Rivers' head as #Clippers blow 19-point second-half lead in close-out playoff game? Hmmm.

Can't believe I missed this
