I'm not sure how anyone can deny this anymore. I definitely think Monty will become a better head coach down the road, but we have the best young player in the league. We have to start making Deep runs in the playoffs, and Monty just isn't the guy.

That's absurd. Look at OKC, Orlando, and Cleveland. All lost or are in danger of losing SuperStars after making the Finals early in their SuperStar's career. We don't need to make noise in the playoffs next year, we need to be making noise in the playoffs in 2019. And all 3 of those teams screwed up with roster management much more than coaching. Orlando broke up a team that made the Finals. Cleveland overpaid over the hill big names. OKC was/is afraid of the tax and broke up a contending nucleus. I'm not defending Monty, but the coach is the easiest/quickest part of the equation to change.

What is Monty's softness level. Not really an objective complaint but AD and the rest of the Pelicans were SOFT down the stretch. Warriors were just mugging them.

Les and Payton have won championships down here. He's a second thought.

Monty is a better assistant coach than head coach. In terms of Peter Principle, Monty has risen to his level of incompetence. He should take a step back and stick to player development. It's too bad we can't keep him on in a role other than HC.
