Maybe our team isn't as flawed as we thought?

Our full squad was together last night and the Spurs came at them with everything they had. We held them off and won going away.

Maybe this team is just fine but needs to stay healthy.

if we are healthy and everybody plays their correct role we can beat any team in the league like we have done as of late (spurs, warriors, etc.).

Our biggest issue with this team is we have been injury prone

The team was flawed. Remember when we had to start Luke Babbitt at SF?

And don't get the board started on how bad Rivers was. The acquisitions of Cole, Pondexter, and Cunningham filled in the holes the roster had. I think you still need to upgrade Cunningham, you still might keep him as depth, but we need to add a long 3 and D SF.

I'm still not sure how high this team's ceiling is. This roster healthy, is it in the middle of the 2-6 scrum, or is it just a little better than Dallas?

Well that and we didn't add QP, Cole, and DC until several games into the season.

We start the season with those 3 and we would've have been at least battling Dal for 7 seed but prob in the mix for 2-6 seed.

I meant current team and not start the year team

The team to start the year was very flawed I agree.

This season alone we're a sixers, knicks, nuggets loss and an asik tip in from being better than Dallas

Who has said the current team is flawed? There are a lot of people that think we need a 2nd star because you need someone to pick up the slack if they take AD away, I'm undecided on that. On paper we have enough firepower to overcome taking AD away, but this team seems to crumble under defensive pressure.

I agree we're better than a 50 win Dallas team, the question is, are we as good as the 55-56 win 2-6 teams?

I really wish I could figure out how to turn Blake Griffin's Austin Rivers into a gif. Makes you wonder why the entire crowd would cheer when Rivers came on the court...

There is a long thread about a Jrue trade that had all kinds of discussion about changing the roster.

Ryno was the one talked about moving the most prob but his play in the 4th last night allowed Reke to abuse Bellinili 3 straight times (unfortunately he missed all 3 lay ups). Spurs weren't going to let Ryno light them up and it really opened the lane up for the rest to do damage. Reke, Jrue, EG, Cole, and AD can all really finish off the dribble in the lane so one less big in there really helps their games.

I really think the group needed to win just to prove to themselves that they CAN WIN when the going gets tough.

I meant since we added those guys. Before, yes, we were very flawed

I think our division record even with injuries would say yes.

Yes. We extended the lead at the end. The game was never really in doubt the last 1:30 mins. The game was over when AD blocked Diaw. Ok maybe a slight doubt when EG threw the bad pass and they closed the gap to 3 but we made all of our FTs so any hope the Spurs had was wiped away.

Last night said we need Ryno for another reason too, Hack an Asik. Do we really want to trot the Foul Machine out in the 4th quarter of a playoff game because a team takes Asik away? We either need a better backup than Ajinca, Ajinca needs to improve more, or we need to keep Ryno.

Yes. The Pels got a big lead and the Spurs closed it to 4, the Pel weathered the storm, never gave up the lead and extended that lead to hold onto the win and the playoffs.

Injuries have been the biggest issues. If Jrue is healthy, we are a much better defensive team.

This team still depends on Reke playing well. He was on last night and that helped out. If he's jacking up threes and missing iso's then we get in a hole.

What I really love is that we have great role players now. Cole, Cunningham, QPon, Ajinca, Asik have all played well and stepped up when needed.

Tyreke really played well for being guarded by Leonard last night. When they first came out and I saw that Reke was going to be guarded by Leonard I thought they were fricked.

i kept waiting for the inevitable strip/steal/dunk from leonard on reke and it never happened. tyreke stepped up big last night...along with cole and holiday. honestly that might have been the best overall guard play we've seen all year, and considering the investment this team has in the backcourt the up and down play there has been the cause of much frustration

i think holiday is the key that opens the box. hopefully he can impact the GSW series for as long at it lasts, and play 75- 80 games next year
