DALLAS – Mavericks owner Mark Cuban isn’t too happy with the league-owned and funded New Orleans Hornets taking back salary and sending cash in today’s trade for Sacramento forward Carl Landry. That a franchise previously on such shaky financial ground that it needed an NBA bailout earlier this season actually increased its payroll greatly irritated Cuban.

“That’s just wrong. That’s just wrong. That’s just absolutely, positively wrong,’” an incredulous Cuban said before tonight’s Dallas-Utah game. “I’ll probably go against the grain from everybody else, but that is so far wrong that it’s not even close.

“There’s so few teams in the league that can afford to do that and yet we’re allowing a team that’s owned by the league to do that?”

He should ask the Texas Rangers how that worked out.

Someone needs to get that sand out of his vagina before it causes an infection.

Or possibly a fine by the league that will likely cover the Hornets' outlay to the Kings.

You'd think Cuban would be in a better mood considering today's news on DOMA

It's usually a good thing when Cuban is mad. As much as I like Thornton, knowing Cuban is mad becuase of this trade makes me feel a lot better.

If he has a point than the Hornets should just forfeit the rest of their games and be contracted now

The only thing to consider is if the league allowed a certain payroll and money to increase the value of the teams to a future ownership group.

I am sure the league just wants to keep a team competitive and increase their return on the league investment.

Honestly it wasn't like a huge trade in regards to money.

Cuban is just being a little bitch. Hopefully we can match up with them at some point in the playoffs. It would be great to eliminate their arse.

Cuban knows giving the Hornets a little flexibility is what is best for him and the whole league.

It's like when the Expos acquired Bartolo Colon and Cliff Floyd in 2002.

The owners unanimously voted to buy the team

If we cant pick up a few million in salary while still being under the luxury tax, then we arent competing on the same playing field.

And if thats thte case, the league made a terrible decision buying the team and we shouldnt be playing games at all.
