Not sure he is the right fit for this team, we need more a facilitator and consistent three point shooter.

May work out eventually but he's kidna frustrating to watch lately, he;s like a poor mans Kyrie, except Kyrie makes the ridiculous shots he takes, so you are ok with that.

Just my thoughts. Jrue is good don't get me wrong, but invest money else where maybe and get you a D and three point guard on the cheap.

I sort of get what you're saying but unless CP3 or someone of that ilk makes it clear they want to come here, Jrue is getting the max.

Part 3 in my series will be all the options if Holiday walks. Once people see the actual possibilities, they will realize that overpaying Jrue might just be the best option. It aint pretty out there

consistent three point shooter.

He's shooting 37% on the season, it's not great but it's good and should be good enough. Last night he had a turnover at a very inopportune time but it's really Hill/Thompson/Moore all shooting under 30% that lost that game. If one of them makes just one more shot it's a win and we're talking about how they are starting to figure things out instead of focusing on the shortcomings of a player that made way more plays to help the team than hurt them last night.

the issue is who are we going to get instead of Jrue?

Jrue will be better after having an offseason and training camp

Definitely cost us the game last night. Why he thought with his loose dribble he could stick it in Leonard's face and not expect to get it stolen. Hero ball, should have passed it.

Who do you realistically expect to get if we let Jrue go?

I'm fine with him at point if we can get better play from the SG and SF spots. He does more good than bad

Slightly off-topic, but do you see any scenario Evans is brought back to NOLA in the offseason? He'll be a FA, right?

His skillset when healthy would seem to fit with the team it appears they're trying to build. Obviously not as your 3-point specialist, but as a backup combo guard who can score and facilitate when Jrue is struggling.

If Gentry is here, Reke won't be. He was not a fan

It just does not look there is any flow to the game. Jrue is a good player, but the games seems slow with him. He gets to the basket, but I'd rather his stretch the flow and move the ball around more.

His slow moving through the paint seems to crowd the lane with Cousins in the game.

Maybe I'm totally off base here, but if Gentry not wanting to have control over player personnel was a large part of the reason he was hired, shouldn't he be adapting his system to the players on the roster instead of trying to generate a certain style of play with a roster that doesn't fit that style?

I hate to use the "square peg, round hole" analogy, but it seems to fit what we've seen in his two seasons here, at least from my vantage point.

With AD and Cousins, having a guy like Reke who may be a "ball stopper," but can drive to the basket, get the defense to collapse around him and dish to the open big man for an easy bucket seems practical. Jrue has his strengths, but he can't get to the goal the way Evans can. If the centerpieces of the franchise are going to be AD and DC, would it not make more sense to run more of an iso & PnR half-court game than a fast-paced, spread-you-out ball-movement game?

It just seems to me that with those two players being the cornerstones, Gentry's preferred style of play isn't going to maximize the talent on the roster.

Just my $0.02, and if I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me. I don't portend to be expert and won't take it personally if my perception is not consistent with reality.
