In other news....I saw Kobe Bryant hit the 30,000 Point Club last night.
I was disappointed in our crowd for not really acknowledging history happening right in front of us. Not sure if the game had to completely stop at that point, but I think next dead ball they should have given him a standing O or something. I know after halftime they announced it and put the spotlight on him, but I think majority of the people in the arena didn't even know what happend when he made the little jumped in the lane. Congrats to Kobe and I'm happy to say I got to witness something like this.
Definitely something someone would put on their bucketlist and probably not be able to do. It is very difficult to get into this club as he is now the 5th person to do it in NBA history... Kobe Bryant scored his 30,000th point on Wednesday and finished with 29 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and one 3-pointer against the Hornets.
He passed the milestone on a shot in the paint over Robin Lopez and we'll be seeing Lopez's hair in the highlight of the play for quite some time. Bryant joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain as the only others to do so. Kobe is looking like he's still in his prime and his 28.0 points per game is on pace to be his best total since 2008.
