In light of Thibs removing Kemba Walker from his rotation, sources say three teams have already reached out to the #Knicks inquiring about a potential trade for Walker.

I would imagine the Pels are one of those teams.

Has anyone watched the Knicks? Kemba's stats are down some per 36 but his percentages are fine so I imagine his defense isn't up to Thib's standards.

He's on a 2/$17 contract so he'll be a $9 million expiring next season.

Graham, Kira, Kemba, NAW, Temple with mixing in of Hart and Herb would be a damn good guard rotation imo

Imagine walker coming off the bench with the complete green light. It could be magic.

What if all you had to do was give up Satoransky and a 2nd? I can't imagine anyone else sending better value than that.

I'd likely do that, though I assume it means giving up on the NAW era as he probably takes NAW's minutes.

This is probably all it would take. Thibs loves defensive guards, Sato would fit right in over there.

NAW has been coming in for BI.

If he takes anyone's minutes it would be Kira, however I wouldn't mind having him and letting him ride the bench and only putting him in when Kira struggles.

It would keep him healthy, and we would have an immediate starter on hand in case Graham misses a few games.

One of the best upgrades we could make is replacing NAW's 14 attempts per game with someone that can actually shoot and score.

Probably have a couple more wins right now on that alone.

Yeah replacing NAW with someone average and we’d be 500 right now. It’s not only his shooting and turnovers. It’s also his defense that kills us. We lost to the Knicks because RJ Barrett dropped 40 on his head. That’s just one example. There are about a half dozen Other matchups he got obliterated in as well.

I've watched majority of about 4 games and have caught parts of others (League Pass is bad for my sleep cycle). Kemba looks done. His knee has quit on him. He can no longer turn the corner and beat guys off the dribble. He ends up taking a lot of difficult jumpshots. At this point, Devonte is a better small guard as far as what he offers.

If that's all it took I would do it but I could also end seeing Kemba being a buy out guy for a team.

Would trade exemptions prevent his salary from going into this year’s cap figure? I admittedly don’t know how the exemptions work. I just know we’re about $21m from the luxury tax, so sato’s $10M wouldn’t be enough to compensate for Kemba’s $35M

ETA: Nvm, google lied to me. I guess Kemba’s contract got changed up since that big arse deal

Think of the trade exception as outgoing salary credit for a future trade you banked from a past trade. This credit lets you bring back salary without sending any out as long as the contract(s) you're getting back fit in the exception. Any salary you bring back would count towards the cap and tax.

Also, trade exceptions can't be bundled with other players or exceptions. If an incoming salary doesn't fit in the exception you can't use it.

Yes. OKC bought him out and then he signed a deal with the Knicks.

Charlotte looking like geniuses after letting him go to Boston.

I wonder if he can change his game into a facilitator and 3pt shooter

I think it’s pretty foolish to say any one player was a major contributor to the slow start. It’s pretty clear that injuries and a constantly changing rotation along with one of the hardest schedules in the NBA were the main causes of that

Is he really worse than Kira and Sato? Because those are the minutes that we're talking about giving to Kemba.
