Why on earth would adding Wallace be a good idea? He would barely play.
I think the reasoning is he costs 5 million less and therefore MIGHT be an easier contract to move.
However, he does indeed suck, hard.

So then you are paying $19 million a season for Jeff Green's minutes instead of about $15 million for Gordon's minutes. Hopefully you can move Wallace's contract or I may consider you in a worse situation.

I'm having 2nd thoughts on taking Wallace. Wallace is $5 million less than Gordon meaning he'd probably be easier to dump if we end up paying someone to take the contract, which seems somewhat likely at this point.
I would not like this trade. It rides too hard on having to move Wallace. I know we are sitting on a similarly desperate situation with Gordon's contract, but I can't see Gordon being harder to move than Wallace. Not worth it for me, even with Green filling the hole at the 3.

Ideally you get rid of the bad contract asap, and if Boston would take Gordon and Rivers for Green you do it, but if they'll only do Gordon for Green/Wallace, I think I take that trade.
I'd like to get Green, but Wallace's contract would keep us from signing Asik. I think the long term goals of this team should be:
1) Get rid of Gordon's contract.
2) Sign Omer Asik as a free agent in 2015.
3) Find suitable to decent SF.
Hell, I think Miller could even be our SF in 2015 if we started Jrue, Evans, AD and Asik with Ryno and Rivers coming off the bench.

Count me in this boat. I think the disparity between Wallace's contract and his performance is worse than Gordon's. Also, Gerald Wallace went to Lalablamma...

I like the initial trade. It is very unlikely we hit in the lottery. We have to be realisitc. We need serious help at the 3/5 position and morrow has proven to provide some minute relief at the 2. I would like to try and get rights to Avery Bradley (who's contract is expiring) if possible by throwing in rivers. Jrue, Jackson, bradley, morrow and Evans sounds like a rather solid backcourt to me. Not to mention green, AD, Anderson, withey in the front court and cap space. I like it.

I can't see that even being an option.
I would imagine Boston would want our 2015 first over Rivers, but I do remember hearing that Ainge would like Rivers for cheap back before AS break.
If we land a top 3 pick ( ) would we have the assets to grab Green and Asik?
Just an example, but
Pels: Green, Asik
Rockets: Rondo, Wallace, Brooklyn's 2014 1st round pick (#17)
Celtics: Gordon, Lin, Pel's 2014 1st round pick (top 3)
Edit: or even simpler (not moving Wallace)
Pels: Green, Asik
Rockets: Rondo
Celtics: Gordon, Lin, Pels 2014 1st (top 3)

Or we get a top 3 pick and use it on Wiggins, Parker, or Embiid.
The obvious solution is to take the super prospect on the long cheap contract.

Yeh they ain't trading the pick if they get to keep it.
Green would fill the void of that 3/4 tweener that has the ability to defend both positions, which is needed if Ryno is in your crunch time lineup -- ability to mix and match defensively and switch on screens.
I wouldn't care if the Pels had to take back Wallace, it's not ideal, but it wouldn't be a deal killer for me.

Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to say. Lucking into that pick creates a lot of options.
You can keep the pick, potentially drafting a future all star at a position of need. You will still be trying to move Gordon, and you wouldn't have a 2015 pick to deal alongside his expiring. We would be very talented, but possibly still have a soft spot in the roster. If you know you can move Gordon, it's a an easier decision to keep the pick.
Or you can trade the pick. Move Gordon and the pick for an upgrade at both positions of need. You wouldn't have a 2014 or 2015 1st, but at that point who cares?
I wouldn't be upset with either move, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Dell trading the pick. Hard to pass up a potential 'franchise changer,' but would you be upset with this roster?
Holiday
Evans
Green
Davis
Asik
Rivers
Morrow
Babbitt
Anderson
Withey

No, you draft Wiggins or Parker, get rid of Gordon's contract somehow and make a hard push to sign O. Asik, Brooks Lopez, or Marc Gasol in 2015.

Evans

Asik

Get Jeff Green at all costs. Dude's exactly the SF player NOLA needs. He's like Aminu if Aminu cheated less on defense and could actually score. Green would be the perfect glue guy.
Say Boston drafts Embiid or Aaron Gordon or another forward, you don't think we could throw them EG for Green and maybe Brandon Bass or Joel Anthony's expiring? Boston just saw what a season of Avery Bradley looks like, and folks it wasn't too glamorous. Rondo+Gordon backcourt is kinda sexy. Pels would become GOAT if they could turn EG into Green somehow
