In all seriousness, how do we find our way out of this mess?

This roster is filled with role players, but it also makes no sense as a roster fit.

We have an expiring in Jrue who has been unreliable at best and we might not even be able to resign.

Expiring in Tyreke with questionable injury history.

QPon who hasn't played in over a year with money on the books next year.

A superstar that is starting to get very, very visibly frustrated.

Not as much cap space next year as people think.

A bum of a coach with another year on the books.

A GM that has been to the playoffs once in 7 seasons and doesn't even appear to be on the hotseat.

A Pres of basketball ops that is a football guy and doesn't seem to even notice this team until February.

An owner with declining health and questionable remaining mental faculties.

How the hell do we get out of this situation? What is a plan going forward?

I think we should tank and hope we get lucky in the draft. But that's highly unlikely with this FO

We are completely fricked.

Bad coach.

Bad roster.

City that doesn't attract top free agents.

Superstar who we may drive out of town.

Completely fricked.

Firing Demps and Gentry would be a great start. At least AD would know we are trying to build a roster for him instead of running him out of town. The recurring health issues for players on this team is so infuriating year in and year out that it is so hard to be optimistic about anything.

At least the 2014/2015 season was fun, despite getting swept in the playoffs.

This isn't a mess, honestly the best thing for the team might be to suck bad enough to get everybody fired and have a high draft pick for the next GM to package with Buddy for Butler/George. The real mess is that when Holiday comes back they'll probably win enough games to save Demps/Gentry job while still missing the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row after the last HC got fired because making the playoffs wasn't enough.

Get rid of everyone in the organization and let AD pick who he wants from the front office, to head coach, to players. I have more confidence in that versus the status quo.

Need Jrue back soon. That's our best hope.

If New Orleans Basketball is going to survive the Pelicans whole front office needs to be gutted and rebuilt. New young fresh thinkers need to be brought in from the top down and the whole direction of this organization needs to be reevaluated.

I'm not really sure what Dennis Lauscha and Mickey Loomis were brought over to provide the Pelicans but it's safe to say that they have provided little in the way of improvements to the business operations from what I can see.

Sadly I see nothing salvageable with this organization. That doesn't mean that none of its components have value, AD is a rising star, but it will not happen with this team for him, and he should be getting to the point in his career that he sees that. There is no stability in this organization and rebuilding every year is a good way to waste AD's career.

Problem is IMO at Benson's age they will just keep throwing mud at the problem hoping to patch up the weak spots and one day it will take off. I don't see how it ever will.

So he can play great and hopefully we can get some good value in a trade.

This is why I said Ettore Messina and Travis Schlenk in previous posts/threads. Furthermore, the basketball Ops side needs to be separated from the Saints. Create an actual infrastructure focus solely on basketball so 100% attention can be paid.

I'm not as high on trading Buddy ATL is but I see where he's going. Of the two, I'd want George but it's no guarantee he'd be dealt.

I know MM has said Benson is the problem and he's right. But I don't think he's in the problem in the way he thinks he's the problem. I think he's the problem in that he's too trusting of Loomis and Lauscha. Even after football season they aren't focused on the franchise because of the NFL off-season, combine, draft, etc. Again, this is why they need to create a separate structure on the basketball side with basketball minds.

By the time they get rid of Demps and Gentry, the new coach will inherit Davis who will eventually bolt in free agency and the NBA may rig the lottery to give us another #1 pick.

Fire coach and GM.

Pray to God the Clippers get bounced early again and CP3 wants to pull a Lebron and come back to where he started, teaming up with a locked up AD for the next few years.

First things first - buddy cannot suck, or else we are set back even further. He was supposed to be a step in the right direction

Hope Archie Goodwin becomes a useable NBA player every night

Put person in place who will make the right decisions going forward w Evans and holiday and future drafts

Well I think firing demps was understood. He's done a terrible job. I've seen enough over the past 7 years.
