Yeah, I think we have established a long time ago that CC is a joke and a borderline piece of shite.

Not sure what his end game is. Because he is awful at his job and he’s consistently tried his best to alienate our franchise player against the City, Organization, Fans and local media.

I don't think anyone is really defending Clark. We all know the local coverage is lacking. It's sad to say but the full time beat writers haven't really differentiated themselves that much from the top bloggers that do it part time and have day jobs.

The unfortunate thing is the consensus perception on this topic seems to be that people are seeing it as Zion fat joke adjacent and just doing more piling on the kid. "He's got a weight clause so he doesn't eat a bunch of Doritos, heh heh, heh heh." It should be treated like an extension of the injury protection clauses with the take away being Zion is all in and committed to rendering those clauses meaningless.

I'll ask again, one dude said its rare, another dude said its common.

Are we assuming the other guy is correct because we don't like Clark or is there actual follow up that backs up what the other dude said?

Personally, I do not care which is right or wrong. His style is just not professional at all.

If someone claims that Mars is full of little green men and I claim that it is not, then we'd have the same situation, as it's much harder to prove a negative.

Anyone who claims that contracts with weight clauses are common in the NBA should be able to identify other players who have them, and I have as yet seen none.

So we don't know which is correct, which is my point all along.

We're doing the same thing we did last time where it's now "proven" CC was wrong because someone said some words that were the opposite of what he said. But we have no confirmation that I've seen either way.

Whether he is right or wrong, his approach is damn near always wrong. I think that is the main issue.

I don't believe that specific weight clauses are common in the NBA. But I do believe there are broad points in contracts that allow teams to enforce conditioning standards.

I heard a segment on Spears and Perkins podcast where they talked about this. Spears was saying that it is common in thr NFL and he specifically had one where his max weight was 280. He got weighed once a month and was fined 5500 a pound over.

Perkins (I think it was him) stated that the Heat weigh players every week during the season and fine players for going over. There has to be some kind of language that allows them to do this..

here’s the thing and nothing else really matters. Either you believe zion has turned a corner and has committed to being the best athlete he can be, or you don’t

the team backed up their belief with a mind boggling amount of money and a ready to go team built around him. They are 100% in on zion.

Everything else is window dressing

There are degrees of this and the base belief that he is misdirected into how the beat maximize his performance. I hope that he starts to rebuild his body and dedicate himself to his craft. But he has literally wasted 3 years f'ing around..

"beauty is as beauty does."

I dare say his bodily ills have prevented optimum growth in the shooting dept. the last injury tested him many ways.
he's been set back.
