I would take Wiggins, Embiid or Parker over Monroe. And I really think we could get a better player than Monroe for a top 5 pick this year. All that being said, I wouldn't mind having Monroe on this team at all.
I would eliminate Embiid because of the injury. That injury is very concerning and I would not use a top 5 pick on him.

nd even if we got Love, there's no way he wouldn't opt out the first chance he gets. Trading for Love would be stupid.

That's the thing

You wouldn't trade for him unless you got a long term commitment

His foot or his back? The foot will be fine, unless he has something chronically wrong with them like Bill Walton, which I'm pretty sure he doesn't. The back is kind a worrisome though. I still think he's worth a top 5 pick based off of potential.

Both. However, there is no way I would assume his foot will be fine. The history of those with the identical injury is terrible. Not many played effective, injury free ball after the injury.

The surgery he just had was for a stress fracture in his leg/foot.

But I think he had back issues during the season and tournament. If he can't play one season of college basketball, I'm not sure how he's going to have a long term NBA career.

Injured big men scare me. But then again, Blake Griffin came back pretty well. Although I think that was an ACL injury.

Why would Bulls do that? They would only clear $1.4 million in cap space. I would think they would want us to take Dunleavy and Snell possibly. That would severely limit our flexibility in re-signing Morrow or adding a big man though.

Put Snell at the three will D. Miller and possibly Southerland the 16 to draft a guy like Jusuf Nurkic (C) and have big man rotation of AD, Ryno, ajinca, withey, and Nurkic

Scouting Report for Nurkic

Does it matter? AD is plenty capable of playing the 5 and any trade that gets us this type of pick would almost have to include Ryno. I think he fits well with AD. He is physical and a great rebounder. I also think he didn't get a chance to showcase all of his skills at Kentucky either.

All that being said if we are moving into the top 7 it better be to get Embiid.

From your link on Nurkic:

quote:

Weaknesses: He’s not a huge leaper or very explosive, his physical game is based on his strength so he could struggle against bigger and longer opponents on both ends of the floor

What is this dude talking about? The guy is 6'11" and 280lbs. There aren't going to be guys much bigger than him.

ma ma ma ma moron!!!
you shouldn't be allowed to respond about anything regarding basketball.

and if we trade to take embiid, it better be to trade away like with Noel, b/c both of them will amount to nothing in the NBA and you guys are all retarded for thinking that drafting some skinny arse athletic center with no offensive game will make us a championship caliber team.
Until we find a 1, 2 or 3 that can close games out for us, we will never sniff the chance at championships.

Popular with me. If Smart is on the board, that is the guy I want. Hands down. He can play the 1 or 2. Would fit in well for the 6th man on this team down the road.

We aren't trading to get into the lottery to pick another Guard. That shite isn't happening with Jrue/Tyreke/Gordon/Rivers all on the roster.

If anything, we are looking for a big man (or possibly a 3), or a Euro to stash.

Don't we already have that in Austin Rivers?

It really matters what they have to give up to get to the 5 or 6 spot. I'd lean toward Embiid if he's available. If he's not available, I'd really question why the Pels would trade up to that spot. There isn't a SF available there that is a difference maker IMO, and taking a center outside of Embiid at that spot would be a reach.

Smart > Rivers

But, the Pels don't need another guard who can't shoot.
