Not to be Debbie Downer but what would happen if he doesn't resign? No first round picks to show for two consecutive years with Hield and this year's first gone. No other young talent to develop. I could legit see AD demanding a trade in that case. I get why you make the move but you also need a plan ready incase he bolts. Down vote away.

he'll make more money if he lets his contract finish out.

if he tells you he won't re-sign next year, you can ship him off and recoup losses.

AD would be eventually demanding a trade if we didn't do something like this. Swing for the fences man

You do realize you can trade him next year if he doesn't want to resign right?

I look at it this way, we we're running out of time before AD started to ask to be traded. This will obviously show we are serious. If we got to that point where AD wants out our team is almost as dead as if Boogie walks.

A young core of Davis, Cousins, and Holiday is about as strong as you find in the NBA. There really is no reason to want to go anywhere else. It is extremely hard to assemble that type of core.

It is only rivaled by the Cavs or Warriors.

Really wish they kept Lance Stephenson now. Hopefully they can flip Jones or one of the albatross bigs for a swing man. Hell I'd even consider JR Smith.

I really don't see Vlade's rationale. The pick will most likely be between 15-19. They already have Affalo and McElmore playing Buddy's position.

If things don't pan out and we have to trade Cousins and AD in consecutive seasons, that's a lot of 1st round draft picks to rebuild with though.
