I saw multiple "season best" games last night.

- Tyreke Evans played the smartest basketball I've seen him play this year. He was a willing passer who actually looked to pass multiple times when he got into the lane. That early kick out to Babbitt at the corner was gorgeous. I probably only went "Tyreke...." 2 or 3 teams last night, a season low.

- Austin Rivers played with that confidence and hunger that's been missing all season. Where the hell has that defense been all year? He was hounding their SGs up top the majority of the game. It's not like Shumpert/Smith are chumps of chumps at the SG position. On offense, still a little too much dribbling, but Mikel was off last night.

- Last but not least, CUNNINGHAM. This guy was all over the floor. He brings an energy and hustle to this team when he enters the game that's contagious. His man defense is stellar. I've been pleasantly surprised at just how powerful he is. He does not let his man get to their spots on that end of the floor.

Don't be fooled by the score. Some of the Knicks played well (when did Stoudemire get his knees back, WTF was that last night). Ryan Anderson went 1-9. Anthony Davis didn't have to go supernova. Mikel channeled his inner Austin Rivers. We still won by double digits.

One game at a time; but, if we can consistently start playing team basketball like we saw last night, there's reason to believe we can overcome Monty's incompetence and have a successful season.

I love that he just started jogging back up the court immediately after making the pass instead of waiting for a possible rebound. He was 100% sure Babbitt was making it.

Austin Rivers

The pressure is off him now with Mekel running the offense.

I love what Cunningham brings. I'm a little concerned we won't be able to keep him long term. The main reason he was available was the fabricated legal mess he got dragged into.

This team is definitely not out of the playoff hunt. I can't wait to see what happens with 12 of the next 14 against over .500 teams. If we can stay around .500 that's a very good performance. We seem to have beating the tar out of bad teams down.

When do we start to worry about Ryan Anderson? He's shooting career low from 3 and his FG percentage is the lowest it's been since his rookie year.

I'm actually very concerned about that. I wish we had a team option for next year.

This smells Morrow all over again to me. But I will be happy for his play this year.

very soon. Joel was saying last night the flight of the ball looks better out of his hands than it has in games past, so that's a good sign. something just must be off with rhythm or something. he's getting a lot of really good, open looks. you can tell he's hesitating sometimes. it's a confidence thing. he makes 2 or 3 tonight and he's back in business.

Last night was a matchup nightmare for Ryno.

Smitty wasn't having any of it. That's the best defense on Ryno I've seen all season by a vast margin.

I loved that the Pels could get a fairly comfortable win with Davis playing like a mortal and Anderson providing little, if anything. I can't wait to see more of this second unit and I am very excited about Mekel and especially Cunningham.

well, he knows the plays and knew where to look. it was like his 3rd highest minutes played this season. i'm surprised they didn't play him more, TBH.

It is pretty similar except I don't think he'll get more than the $2.7 million room exception like Morrow did.

I thought Babbitt had a pretty good game, too. He only had 6 on 2-6 shooting behind the arc, but he did about as well as you could ask of him guarding Melo. Seemed like a good matchup for him.

Bringing Jason Smith's career lockdown defensive efforts total to 1.

It's not that time yet. He spent a lot of time unable to shoot or keep in shape. Two of the biggest things a shooter needs are repetition and his legs. The back injury took away his ability to work on both.

He also has spent every game pre Mekel being the 1st option on the bench unit and playing from the post rather than around the arc.

Dude was our first and only option for a long stretch last season and he dominated.

The acquisitions are both going to pay huge dividends. AR is abysmal running the offense. I'm still confused why there were a number of possessions where AR seemed to be at point with Mekel standing in the corner. Only noticed a few times but still. Taking that pressure off of AR will be huge. I still don't think he's very good but maybe he will play looser and his defense was great last night.

Cunningham is huge. Just a competent bench player.

I'm concerned about Ryno, 20 games in and he's only had 1 game where he took over (Orlando - 1st game) and buried them. We obviously don't need that every night but if/when he gets his legs under him, he'll be scary.

Asik seems to be going up tougher on put backs. Reke played under control.

Give Monty some credit. Still don't like him as a coach but if he can hone Reke in, that's an accomplishment in itself.

If EG comes back and picks up where he left off, I like where we're heading.

It's depressing to look at the west standings, though. The top 7 is pretty much locked in. You know OKC will be there. I'm honestly surprised how well Memphis and Portland are playing. I honestly thought those were 2 teams we'd be competing with for the 6-8 seeds and they're at the top. It's going to be tough

An injury to any of those teams can change that in a hurry.

I don't want to be a dick but lol

Quincy Acy/Jason Smith is a matchup nightmare?

Don't make excuses for Anderson. He's been more or less shite this season.

Let's just call a spade a spade, he is not playing well right now.
