I like this team and we are figuring things out finally with a healthy in shape Zion. Dallas made the big moves getting 2 really solid players in PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford. Our length will be important against them now more than ever. The Knicks improved overall their depth a lot but so far Dallas has made the most impactful moves to me. Gordon Hayward on OKC just gives them one more scoring option which will be even harder to guard them but He also so t be able to keep up with guys like BI on defense. His foot speed just isn’t there anymore. How does everyone feel?

Wanted Murray but not at the cost of Herb, so i'm good with this.

Sucks we couldn't get a 2nd for Naji, but not the end of the world.

Definitely disappointed the Murray for Val/Dyson/1st then BI for a legit center won't happen now.

I feel that were several players traded for very reasonable prices that could have helped us in a playoff series. However, I'm so used to it that I don't even get disappointed anymore.

The organization puts its own financial restrictions in place that render it like Vanderbilt recruiting football players. They go after the best players in the nation, as long as they have a 4.0 GPA and a 30 on the ACT.

Who are some dudes traded that you think would be in an 8 ish man playoff rotation for us?

Gafford or Olynyk would definitely have increased the likelihood of winning any series. And both were traded for almost nothing

I think Gafford fits pretty well with his rebounding. Smallish lineup if they play him at the 5 but still more size than with Nance playing that backup role. I also don't really trust that Nance will remain healthy through the end of the season. With that said, I get that it puts us in the tax for this season and beyond so I'm okay with not trading for him. I do wish we unloaded Naji so his minutes would go elsewhere to players with much higher ceilings.

Its ok we have a bunch of first round picks still smh. It’s crazy that Griffin never uses the picks. I mean this years draft is crap- he should have unloaded the first to help the team for this season.

And I don't buy into the 8 man rotation stuff. Most teams go to 8 man rotations because there is usually a big dropoff after that. I don't like that the Pelicans entire front line depends on Zion and Larry's
health.

I also think this team is a lot closer to the top of the conference than most of this board.

Both make a little over 12 million. If we were willing to pay the luxury tax, Kira straight up with picks works for either. Or a combination of Cody, Naji, and Liddell also worked.

Yeah, we were never going to go into the tax unless we got a real difference maker.

I'm well aware of that. We've traded 5 2nd round picks in the last year to avoid the tax. That doesn't change the fact that we're the most healthy the team has been in a decade and as close to contention as they have been in over a decade. While teams like Dallas and Phoenix improved with zero assets, we didn't with plenty of assets available.

Absolutely! Assets are useless if you don’t use them and forget Murray- we could have added other guys to help this playoff run. To me thats on Griff.

I seriously doubt it was Griff's idea to dump Kira 3 weeks before the deadline if he wasn’t told that the luxury tax threshold is a hard ceiling.

I get the herb jones love AND I LOVE HIM ON THIS TEAM but be fr here . Murray is better offensively and maybe just as good defensively .. Murray would’ve put us in contention

We could blame Gayle but Griff knew what he was getting working for a team that has never paid the tax. You have to operate knowing the team you’re working for.

Dallas was helped more by getting rid of Grant Williams than anybody they could get. That dude has been terrible this year and has cost them multiple games. Not only has play been bad, but he is always getting technicals trying to take on this tough guy/Draymond Green wannabe role. Sad to see him go. Mavs have not been healthy for much of the season and if their big 2 stay on the floor, they will be a better during this second half of season. Phoenix is playing extremely well. Lakers playing much better. West is going to be wild down the stretch. I think Kings will be the team that drops to 8 or 9
