This year wasn't meant to be, but the team definitely made progress.

My wife and I just got back home from eating and drinking in the Bywater while amusing the youngsters with our incredibly clever old fart hijinks. Maybe that accounts for my good mood. But seriously, I predict unforeseen moves during the off season (from top to bottom) that will produce for next season.

Take flight and shite.

It's actually a good thing long term. Monty is not a good coach for this team long term and he might get fired this season. It's better than falsely making the playoff and being stuck with a bad coach more years like the Wizards.

I just wish our first round playoff exit would have been this year so that we can build from it for next year. Now we will get knocked out early next season after ADs 4th season. Unless major moves are made top to bottom this team next season is a first round exit whether it be a 6, 7, or 8th seed, and it will be to a more experienced team. That's why experience this year was crucial but it didnt happen. When I mean major moves must be made I mean coaching, players, front office, medical staff, marketing, ticket sales, the whole 10 yards. We need to start filling seats to keep AD in New Orleans and we need a coach who can fully maximize his potential.

As long as we upgrade the coaching position then I have a positive outlook for next season.

In my unprofessional opinion I think they should bring everyone back except maybe Jimmer and Cunningham (unless on minimum deal). I would look into getting a SF/PF in a trade with Anderson that is more of a perimeter defender and shooter.

Then see what a new coach can do with hopefully a healthy roster. I think Asik and Ajinca both need to be back for sure. I think Gordon can be a future piece if he is on more of a $8-10 million/year contract on his next deal. If he would opt out and sign an extension along those numbers I think it would be ideal.

This team is one lights out star from being a contender. Maybe two stars

Agreed.

Hmmm, maybe not. I think we make a leap forward (like between 06-07 and 07-08). Gut feeling.

I think with a better coach and a healthy roster this team would be looking more like a contender already.

We need to sway Durant to come play here. I'm sorry, but just one star does not get you to the promised land in today's NBA.

So is this your own personal prediction like the 16 game win streak, or have you heard things from people that know people?

Most certainly. Just last night I found out that another lawyer knows one of my clients.

Why can't all 28 teams think of this clever shite every year.

It's 30 teams and not everyone can be this clever.

how do you define star, just whoever is popular?

Cause on the scale of elite, top 10-15 players in the league, the Spurs had none last season.

GI, it was an unfortunate misunderstanding. Alcohol may have been involved. Like a 75% chance.
