If #Bulls make coaching change, Fred Hoiberg WOULD accept the job if it were offered, a source who spoke to Hoiberg told me this morning.

If true this probably means no Hoiberg for Pels and would obviously make Thibs available.

Why would that job be better than the Pels today? 5 years ago when we couldn't get Thibs and had to settle for Monty of course it was.

Sure they have some nice talent in Butler and Noah as well as a declining superstar in Rose, but why would that be a better situation than coaching Davis.

Then factor in the fact that ownership and management has proven throughout the years that they aren't; huge pains in the asses to work for like Reinsdorf and I really don't get it.

Only thing I see as an advantage to that job is the afct that its in the East.

Because Hoiberg is friends with people in the Bulls FO already.

His twitter profile says he works for Fox Sports West.

It also sounds like this is affecting recruiting already so there may be something to it.

So John Calipari came out on Twitter on Tuesday to deny interest in the New Orleans Pelicans' coaching gig.

You're an Iowa State fan wishing Fred Hoiberg would do the same right now.

...I've heard Iowa State fans are freaking out. Recruiting is in a holding pattern, and maybe that's putting it nicely. One-and-done graduate target Tyler Harris last week picked Auburn over Hoiberg's offer.

The Bulls job will always be a better job than the Pelicans, today, tomorrow and 5+ years from now.

If you enjoy dealing with meddling ownership and front office.

Van Gundy has now moved to the top of the list for me if this is true.

I think there was something to Reid's story. I doubt Calpari ends up here, though, for more than one reason.

Cal has way more value as a college coach than he would as an NBA coach.

Well, frick.

But to be expected. It's what most were saying all along. Midwest, ties to the organization, already established relationships. No huge surprise but still disappointing.

hasn't this been known for months. He is buddy buddy with many in the Chicago Bulls organization. Thibs seems to have few friends left in Chicago. These rumors were around since at least February.

There were reports that he wouldn't leave Iowa because of the heart issue. The report seemingly refutes that, which also goes hand in hand with the Bulls saying that they won't do anything with Thibs until they get a commitment from another coach high on their radar. Everyone assumed that report was referring to Hoiberg.

I'm happy about this, because I want Thibs

yeah, I don't really know the extent of his heart condition other than the fact that it ended his NBA career.

I'm hearing Bulls, Twolves, Magic, and Pelicans have all reached out to Hoiberg. No surprise. Bulls charging hardest, but Twolves in play

Hmmm. (Don't know who Keith Murphy is)
