Its been confirmed that the "better" offer was pulled. Cousin's agent was calling all the interested teams to scare them off. Cousins wanted to get the max extension. Getting traded cost him 30M guaranteed. The Kings had to make a move, to get worse, otherwise they would lose their first round pick (only top 10 guaranteed)..
