The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that guard Eric Gordon underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure yesterday in his left ankle to alleviate pain caused by particles of scar tissue. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel of the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, CA.

Gordon is currently recovering from the procedure and will begin rehabilitation immediately while returning to basketball activities later in the summer.

What a surprise.

I will say that these kind of things are pretty common procedures for athletes. And at least he's getting it done now and not during training camp.

I think this is also another sign that he's going to need to play for us for a bit before we have a chance to move him.

So start thinking about how the team will be built with him here.

I'm guessing his trade value is nil until the start of the season now that this is out there.

I kind of feel like it was nil to begin with. What's less than nil?

I'm just glad it's his ankle and not his knee.

Again this sounds like a tissue/particle cleanup. Pretty common thing. I'm not going to freak out about it.

If it was the knee I'd complain, but people say its just a simple ankle clean up which usually doesn't effect people too much long term
