Thoughts? Prob a long shot with our big man depth. Clippers haven't closed the door yet on him, but they still haven't offered him a deal. Mavs are also interested. I think he would be a solid big for us and would be able to provide 6-9 min a game as a spark plug off the bench.
They are talking about Davis having options in China and Europe. Is he that worthless? I would give him a shot.

If he is one of your top guys coming off the bench, that may not be good.

I like him. He has a sweet jumper and battles for boards.

I would have to think he doesn't fit the up and down style we are planning to run. Also, we have Perkins for anything Davis would be used for.

Maybe he can land with the Sixers or something.

He might actually be something we could use Lsu homer aside. He has good mid range. And like you said spark off bench for 6-8 a game. Impactful minutes. Can play little more when ryno goes down

As a 5th big, I don't see any problem with it. He is a veteran with experience playing on winning teams. But if he averages any more than 3-5 minutes a game we are in trouble big time.

Yeah I just don't see Perkins playing much, and big baby could slide to the 5 if we wanted to go really small. I don't see it happening at all but he's one of the better FA's remaining and he's a home town kid.

Would also make Anderson much more tradeable since we'd have a solid PF to back up AD, although im 100% against trading Ryno. All said and done we need to lock up Cole ASAP and if we do I really don't care about the final 1-2roster sports.

Big baby is not a "solid PF to back up AD". If we consider acquiring him for this reason then I am 100% against acquiring him. He should be a 5th or 6th big who gets no real minutes. His presence on the roster makes no difference to the tradeability of Ryno.

I didn't say that was the reason to acquire him, I said it would make it easier to trade Ryno BC we would have big baby to fill in his role as somebody who can stretch the floor(not nearly as well; but still can). If we traded Ryno it wouldn't be for another PF IMO, it would be for a starting wing, so big baby would just give us much needed depth at PF if we decided to move Anderson; which I have said many times I DO NOT want to trade Anderson.

This ain't Monty Ball anymore. Gentry has talked about wanting AD shooting 3s at least 4 different times this summer.

AD will take more midrange shots than 3s.

@TigerATL, so I know AD lives on that mid range(but he hasn't died yet to my recalling), and so does Cunnigham. With Gentry's new system I can understand an emphasis on stepping back for the 3 instead of the two. However, do you still see the team taking the same amount of mid-range jumpers?

I know the Pelicans will have a fast pace offense where Tyreke, jrue, and even AD will have so many easy transition opportunities out of the gate for easy 2's and wide open 3's. The only thing is, i can think of 3 guys on the team that are very consistent with the long mid range jumper- jrue, Cunningham, and AD.

As much as Id love to see more 3's and just a quicker pace, it's hard to not see AD, jrue, and Cunnigham stepping back on the midrange, especially jrue and AD off the dribble.
Cunningham and AD are our best spot up midrange shooters and jrue is very close. I think all 3 are close to elite at that aspect of the game and I wanna still see that consistently.

Typical has to be uber athletic and dunk really hard fans lol. He would play for every single team in league for limited minutes

If ryno DOES get traded,DC will likely be the backup PF and he'd be just fine there.

Why wouldn't he be? He's done it before(In MEM/MIN behind ZBo/Love)

No he's not

Most advanced stats all favor DC(WS/RPM) except PER which is almost exactly the same.

DC is also a better shooter from 10-16 feet and is more athletic. Not to mention he can play the 3.
