The Sacramento Kings have engaged in serious discussions with George Karl and his representatives in recent days as the team's play has worsened under interim coach Tyrone Corbin, league coaching sources have confirmed to ESPN.

The Kings, according to sources, are still deciding whether they indeed want to make another coaching change so soon, which would make it three coaches in the brief regime of new owner Vivek Ranadive.

But sources say Ranadive is increasingly ?intrigued by the idea of bringing Karl in immediately after initially pledging to give Corbin the rest of the season to make his case.

Wait. League sources confirmed to ESPN that an ESPN employee is in contract negotiations?

Well, there was a time earlier in the season that I was really praying for Karl to come to N.O. But I've pretty much decided it isn't going to happen. Besides, while I still have problems with Monty, I want to see the season play out with him.

Karl was on NBA TV this morning talking about AD and the Pelicans. He actually said that he likes the way the Pelicans have improved and thinks they have a good chance of making the playoffs. Hope that's not the kiss of death.

Back during the PTAO dark days, I wanted Monty's arse fired, but the past few weeks play has bough him a stay of execution IMO. I guess that is why we are fans and not in the fronto office of an NBA team. However, if we regress #fireMonty is back.

what I fear is, QPon's leadership along with Tyreke and EG upping their game is keeping Monty afloat. Offense still moves stagnant and defense is still not where it should be for what we have at hand (Not including the OKC games).

This is honestly a case of where I hope we go the GS route and hit a home run like them.

Karl is far better at coaching basketball than Monty, but can't do this.

Apparently talks are slowing because of Boogie's camp not wanting Karl.

He probably sees that the Pels are going to make the playoffs and Monty is going to keep his job.

However, if we don't, this opens the door for Fred Hoiberg to NOLA.

Why do people keep saying this? Has there been some info come out saying that he is interested?

Because he's Brad Stevens 2.0.

But he's not leaving Ames.
