Was on "The Starters"(A SL postgame show)

-Wants AD to improve post game(emphasis on this),learn to use the right skills against the right guys. Needs to slow it down on small guys and use post moves. Sees AD as a facilitator.

- Pels will play "big small ball" whatever that means

-Something about kareem and the showtime lakers and their pace.

-Curry is an NBA player and will find a home.

I think big small ball means that even with say AD at center they aren't really small with the rest of those around him

It's probably also referring to Ryno. A 6'11 C and 6'10 PF aren't small like Barnes and Draymond Green.

Yea, that's the first thing I thought of as well. They can play "small ball" style, while still having two guys on the floor who are 6'10.

from paul flannery's column sunday

quote:

How much is coaching worth? The Pelicans will offer an interesting test case. Alvin Gentry has assembled a solid staff that includes Darren Erman, Phil Weber and Robert Pack while retaining well-regarded player development coaches Kevin Hanson and Fred Vinson. Gentry is a pace-and-space guru and while the Pels already had a top-10 unit, their offense was often slow and congested. Erman is expected to transform a defense that underperformed and was especially leaky in the interior despite having Anthony Davis and Omer Asik. New Orleans brings back virtually the same team that won 46 games last season so any improvement will come from within.
