I dont think Holiday has ever had a 'good' offensive coach. Will definitely be interesting to see how much he improves next season

Gentry's best offenses have had world class PGs. Jrue is going to be the biggest piece of this puzzle going forward. I mean, we all know that AD is going to be amazing, but we need Jrue to be great to take this to another level.

I think I'm most eager to see what happens with Holiday. Not even considering the injuries it's always felt like he was underachieving. His skill set says he can play the same role as the MVP PGs Gentry has had before, now we get to see how good he can be. I'm still not sure how well Tyreke fits, but if the team stays healthy I see the potential for Demps to completely flip the script on all of his big moves that so far have been viewed as mistakes.

I think for a player like AD to not be towards the top of the league in usage % is criminal. Granted he is a big, but you got guys like Griffin up there ahead of him and you can see the impact he had. CousIns was top 5 last year. Aldridge etc

Or go back to David Robinson's 93/94 season where he average 30 ppg w a usage % on 30+

That's how AD needs to be used imo

and I think you can from that divine why Monty was let go
asik/holiday/Evans are the big demps moves, and none of them really have moved the needle

demps likely felt that Monty either resisted the moves or could not execute them. now we will see

I am optimistic

Yeah. Having Holiday, Evans, and Gordon screams whipping the ball around and allowing each guy a chance to attack shifting defenses. Monty's system, while able to score efficiently, wasn't built for that.

The Holiday improvement likely won't be him turning into a Curry/Nash type guy. He's not that type of player- honestly I don't know if he's a high caliber lead ball handler, but that's why you have Evans and even Gordon. Alter his shot selection slightly (more 3s please), get him to move the ball more readily, and become more efficient. With his defense, I'll be happy even if there is a dip in his numbers.

3's and foul shots for holiday
he must get more aggressive
not being on the floor hurt his development but when he was out there on offense he just seemed to be too passive

and passive is a good way to describe Monty's system I think
if the pels can dictate on offense it should greatly improve their endgame strategy against good teams, and hopefully cut down on the stagnation against bad teams

I think if you polled every head coach they would prefer that their opponent played slowly and deliberately, which is exactly what they did

I think computers might have been against his religion...
