Salary cap is supposedly going to be $94M

Pelicans Salary:
AD $22.2M
Jrue $11M
Reke $10.2M
Asik $9.9M
Ajinca $4.9M
QPon $3.6M
Dante $3M
Buddy $2.8M

That's 8 players on contracts today. You have to have 13 players on your roster, and can have two additional inactive players for a total of 15. An inactive player is what Jeff Withey was most of his time here. Looking pretty on the bench in a suit while not injured.

Total Salary: $68,468,583
Cap Space: a little over $25M

Gee has a player option for $1.4M. Hoping he opts out. We've seen what he can, and can't do, move on and look for something else.
I would think we will keep Frazier and his cap hit is $1.2M

So we will likely have a lineup of
Jrue/Frazier
QPon/Hield
Reke/Dante
AD
Asik/Ajinca
and have about $24 million in cap. We have to sign at least 4 guys, not including Diallo in that.

Desperate need for two SF's. Also need a backup PF, as you can't rely on Diallo to do anything this year, and he'd be more of a 5 likely.

I do not know what the minimum salaries are going to be or how the exceptions work, if they even exist anymore.

I left off some obvious no chance guys (Durant, etc, and older guys that aren't coming here, Joe Johnson, Jason Terry, etc)

I personally would like to get Marvin Williams here, and i like Dudley. I'd like Crabbe, but he may be too much. I'd like to see Terrance Jones as well, but he might be too much as well, but he didn't play that well this past year.

I think we could realistically see us sign
Dudley SG/SF
EG SG
Terrance Jones PF
and then minimum salary guy or two.

Yeah. His numbers are close enough except that bump in the cap to $94 moves AD to $22.2 If you include Gee/Frazier/Ennis I get a total of $71.6 million in salary for $22.4 million in cap space.

I would not be upset if we signed any one of those guys.
Would prefer to get two of them if possible.

I would like Marvin to be our 4 closing games, and one more of these at the 3, with AD, Jrue, QPon/Hield. I think going that route means you go get minimum guys at the 4 and 5 to fill out the roster.

Almost enough space to offer a 0-6 guy, not quite enough for a 7-9 guy.

Not really, but if we really wanted to i'm sure we could find a way to get rid of salary for the right person, like Durant, but that shite ain't happening.

Yup. I mean look if Durant wants to come here we can always find a way to make the numbers work.

But we are a little short of the max outside of some manipulation.

I'll try to keep it updated with signings and salary once free agency starts.
