Fire Gentry and Loomis and offer Coach Cal both jobs?

Gentry cant coach the half court style of basketball that these 2 bigs will require. Hell, he cant coach any style successfully apparently. Would Cal leave Kentucky to be reunited with 2 of his best former players?

Why are people so high on Calipari when he failed miserably in his NBA stint?

We've wanted Dell gone for years. Everyone said Gentry would be his last chance after the hire was made. Gentry hasn't worked, so fire both

Well, what the Pels have been doing hasn't worked. I cant remember how much talent Cal had with the Nets, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have 2 guys as good as Boogie and AD. But more importantly, the NBA is a much younger league now, which developing young players sea to be his strength. And I think he'd command more respect from the entire team if the 2 superstars bought in.
Cal may bomb, but it's worth a shot. What they are doing clearly is not working.

Unless we win the NBA championship or
make an unbelievable run in the playoffs. Benson should fire Gentry and Demps, hire Cal, and let him put his own guy as GM or let Cal handle the GM role too with Loomis handling the #'s. That way Cal can "pick the groceries & cook the dinner" and Loomis can "do the haggling."
Disclaimer: I would love fir Benson to fire Loomis, but I think Loomis is in the picture atleast until Tom Benson is out if the picture. Tom is comfortable with Loomis, and he usn't firing Loomis from the Saints or Pels.

Cal is an average coach. He wins by easily having the most talent on the floor. People complain about Johnny Jones, but Jones schools him year after year.

This isn't the same NBA that Cal failed in, and just look at Pete Carroll as the perfect example of how a coach can fail in the pros multiple times and the come back and dominate.
