Trade Scenario No. 1: Anderson and Earl Clark to the New Orleans Hornets for Eric Gordon

Eric Gordon would make a good sidekick for Dwight Howard, if he stays healthy.

This one has a certain element of risk but could potentially have a huge pay out. The risk is, of course, the shaky status of Gordon's health. He's been injury-prone, and that bum knee has limited him to just two games this season. He just had surgery that will keep him out for at least another six weeks, making the idea of shelving him this season a possibility.

But if he fully recovers, it's not crazy to think he could be among the top two shooting guards in the league over the next five years -- coinciding with Bryant and Wade's decline -- which would likely give the Magic the best inside/outside duo this side of Miami. His 22.3 ppg last season were fourth-best among shooting guards, and his combination of size, speed and strength makes him one of the toughest one-on-one matchups in the league. Gordon, 23, has youth on his side, too.

Plus, the Hornets have incentive to move him. All indications are that Gordon has no intention of staying in New Orleans (he chose not to sign an extension last month and will be a restricted free agent this summer), so trading him for a quality building block is a better alternative than pleading with him to stay when it looks like a long-term future in the Crescent City might not be in his plans.

While Anderson isn't a franchise player, he can be a highly useful piece in any rebuilding puzzle. He leads the league in made 3-point field goals and, at 6-foot-10, he has excellent size and isn't afraid to mix it up on the glass.

Lol Really?

Thanks but we already have a jump shooting white PF. His name is Jason Smith. I think one of those is enough.

At least there is something on ESPN that is not about Lin or Tebow.

According to ESPN no one wants to play here. I guess come draft time we will be getting reports that Player A will be trying to force a trade so we don't draft him.

It is the same thing they did with with Tebow. Just saturate all the ESPN channels with it until you can't take it anymore.

Agree with this. Lin has been balling but it's only been 6 games and ESPN already has articles about whether or not Stern should put him in the All-Star game.

Is Chris Palmer typically an Orlando homer?

Nevermind, I just checked. He's just an outright hack. He seems to be pretty Howard-obsessed, as well.

This is the same guy from the other EG trade thread right? I liked his earlier work better. Maybe if he should have thrown Turkoglu in this deal.
