If he does opt out, would this give us enough money to go after Carrol or Danny Green?

Gordon opting out changes things dramatically. Don't resign Asik and you've got about $20 million in cap space. Gordon alone might be enough for Green but probably not Carroll.

I've looked into dating possibilities with international supermodels. It's likely my quest will end similarly to Eric's

Due diligence can't fault him
It's a pretty big career decision that has risks both ways

Eh, probably a non-story. He's doing what anyone in his place should do.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to play out this season then look for a 3 or 4 year deal next year after the cap goes up?

Not necessarily given his injury history.

Game changer for the Pels if he opts out. I realize it only takes one idiot GM, but It's not happening.

With that said...a kid can dream...

ETA: if he opts out, doesn't Demps immediately let Asik walk?

I would rather him opt out.

What he's probably looking for is a specific total, like I'll give up $15 if I get $50. Definitely a long shot. Also, we are the only team that can give him 5 years, so he checked with us.

Yes, and he probably also thinks about trades that may not have returned enough with less cap space available.

That article was literally void of new information.

Thanks

Could get a legit wing and a solid stop gap at the 5 with all that cap space.

Oh well. Dell does great work at the deadline, with a healthy Gordon/15.5 expiring, and the KD's of the world coming into play in '16 with the cap jump, things should be fun in Feb.

Gordon is not going to opt out. We should not get our hopes up.

No way he opts out. Would be dumbest move ever. He won't garner more than a 6 or 7 mil contract

Total game changer.

You can start doing a lot of things and could drastically change the roster up.

Not happening, though.

It's not like there's a big supply of good 2s in the league. I could see him getting at least 9 per on the open market. Especially with the salary cap jump next offseason. It'll essentially be like a 6 per deal relative to the new cap. So, teams could actually bite on him. A pretty good 2 for what is essentially a 6 mil a year contract is a favorable team deal. Also, long contracts are generally more preferable.

I'm not saying he will opt out, but there is a possibility if he wants security. On the team side, a 40MM/4yrs isn't too bad of a contract for a starting level 2. And that kind of deal will guarantee EG an extra 25 MM in career earnings. Not bad for a guy with his injury history. Definitely worth thinking about on his end.
