Emeka Okafor's Importance to the Hornets by the Numbers

To get straight to the point, I’m a pretty big believer in Emeka Okafor’s role as the key to the Hornets’ success on defense, so I decided to take things a step further (using advanced statistics from HoopsStats.com) to see just how important the man actually is. Some of this may seem like stating the obvious, but it is really interesting to see how much worse our team is in certain areas without him. It's absurd. If my post below isn't descriptive enough, a more detailed analysis can be read here.
Team Efficiency Difference ( Calculation) - 6th with him, 26th without him
Team Efficiency Difference (C position) - 7th with him, 30th (LAST) without him
Opposing PF/C Field Goal % - 3rd with him, 29th without him
Opposing PF/C Defensive Rebounding - 23rd with him, 30th without him (and nowhere close to 29th)
Obviously, there are other reasons that we've been playing so poorly, but Okafor's absence has to be the #1 cause. Get well soon, Mek! We need you!

We need him back bad. We have been sucking since he got hurt.

The Tree is a gamer for sure. obviously this skid is due to the fact that we do not have a good center to step in...just gotta ride this injury wave out

it's not like all of this is directly attributed to Okafor.
The team would have dropped in all those categories even if he was on the court. If people play like shite on the individual level, Okafor isn't going to change that.

So you gonna act like we didn't start playing bad when oak got injured?? Okay player

correlation does not imply causation.
your logic stinks.

So you're gonna act like since Oak has been out we only won 2 games?

I never implied that we've sucked solely because Oak has been hurt; I merely stated that his absence has hurt us significantly, and then provided numerical data to support that fact. How can you disagree with my logic?

I will never take Okafor for granted again. I never thought we would be hurting this bad without him.

So your going to act as if since Oak has been out, we only won two games??? We were 31-16 with him and are going into the break 33-24

when a top 5 center goes down you can expect a droppoff in the team's production
